I’m about to acquire new rechargeable ha’s, but haven’t picked one as yet. But that means my current Phonak Paradise ha’s will be needed as a back up. How should they be stored? Should they be in the plugged in charging box or just left to drain?

@cvkemp has back up rechargeable HAs. He can let you know of his routine.
Don’t ever let rechargeable HAs drain for an extended period of time. Eventually this will permanently damage the batteries.
Draining happens even when they are off, albeit very slowly.
Charge them and turn them off. Don’t put them in the charger again as that might trigger them to turn on again.
Repeat this every 3-6 months.
As an example, I came across some Starkeys which had been used for 2 years, and then had been put away for 3 years. The batteries were completely dead.

I wear my backup aids one day each month so I can keep them refreshed. But my audiologist told me to charge them at least ever 4 months.
