Jabra Pro 30 Charging case - Does it have a battery? What extra features are U using?

Just back from camping. Took my Jabra charging case and noted that when it wasn’t connected to an electricity source it lit up when I put my HA’s in the case.

Made me wonder if the case has the ability to charge without a power source during camping?

Also, I did get these at Costco in Mobile and was Happy with Holly there. I’ve also been fitted by Asia there, both with good results. However, I did remember all the stuff about the HA’s afterwards.

Please, anyone, if you have time post the extra’s that the HA does. I use an Iphone and just upgraded from 8 to 13 so any tips… I use it Iphone for news and books on tape.

FYI, I was getting feedback which Holly adjusted for in the office. It persisted when I went home. Holly sent me a remote upgrade which fixed the problem when I installed that. Saved me a 1 hour ride to Mobile. Love that feature. She also offered a remote video session, so those of you who complain about Costco service, keep in mind this is available.

Yes, the charger has a battery that will recharge the HAs several times.

Here is their support page with manuals that describes the charger, hearing aids, etc.

Thanks, Chris. I was probably too focused on talking and not enough listening. I’ll review the docs you pointed me too. Appreciate the reply. - Allen

The only time I used the backup battery in the charging case was when I stayed at a hotel and didn’t want to bring another charging cable. I could charge the hearing aids fully for three days usage.

Unfortunately, the Jabra app instructions are very lacking. For example, the button on the, “All Around”, card that says, Speech Clarity, the instructions say, “It increases the clarity of speech”. You just have to play with them. Generally, the buttons on the various cards, just adjust the three tone settings, “treble, midrange, and bass”. Unfortunately, the hearing aid specialists at Costco get the same training from the videos as you receive. For example, you can tap the hearing aid to answer your phone, but to hang up, requires pressing the button on the hearing aid itself. Apple’s AirPods can do both with a tap. Jabra just didn’t incorporate that feature. Also, my Costco hearing aid specialist didn’t inform me of this feature. She told me that because the connection isn’t very good, she doesn’t cover that with her patients. However, from a post on this forum, I discovered that by turning off, the switch in the Jabra app labeled, “Optimize MFi Connection”, improves the quality of the iPhone connection to the hearing aids enormously.

Overall, I’m happier with the Enhanced Pro 30s ability to reduce noise, such as in restaurants, while enhancing speech, than the previous Enhanced Pro 20s capability.

BTW, the Jabra videos above, are so basic that they are nearly useless.

Thanks, Bob. The MiFi tip is great. I’ll play with that. Didn’t know about tapping for the Iphone.

Yes, Apple has been working with hearing aid manufacturers for several years. MFi stands for, (Made For iPhone).

The case which is included with the Jabra hearing aids from Costco is the upgraded case which has a battery built inside. When it’s plugged into the house AC it charges the battery. It will charge the hearing aids for three nights.

As you have said the service that I received from Costco has been 100% first class. I wasn’t aware that they can adjust your hearing aids remotely. I only live less than five miles from Costco so I can just drive over.

Also, if you push the side button on your iPhone three times rapidly, it brings up the built in hearing aid menu. It allows you to quickly change the settings.

Thanks, Bob. Didn’t know about the pushing the button 3x.
I try to keep security cautious with my Iphone. Just getting used to my hand-me–down from my son 13. Do I lose much functionality with My Enhance Pro when I turn of “location services” on the phone?

I upgraded to the Jabra’s from Costco’s 8’s. I miss that app which allowed me to focus the receivers from the 360 listen to a more directed listen. Really helped with meetings in a group.

Switching from All Around to Hear in Noise … switches to front focus

That function is still there. Your Costco hearing aid specialist has to activate it.

Or do it yourself with Smart Fit software and your computer

I would talk to your Costco fitter. My understanding is that in the hearing in noise program you can switch from intelligent noise tracker to noise tracker. This change gives you the ability to focus the microphones but disables the DNN chip.

I got my Costco fitter to install two versions of hearing in noise so I could see which works better for me. (You can only have 4 programs installed by the fitter, so I am temporarily replacing the music program with a second hearing in noise program.)

Hmm. I’m kind of a DYI guy. will the software, smart fit, allow me to change stuff and re-program? Is it free?

FYI, my first pair of HA’s were Starkeys. I got the cables and got a device to attach to my computer and program them myself. I found the Starkey software a bit complicated, especially all the verbage. Made me realize these fitters like to stick with 1 manufacturer for that reason.

Yep and free it is, should be easy for you if you’ve done this before, you’ll need the Noahlink wireless programming device, super easy to use compared to the horrible old HiPro and cables.

yup, the HiPro’s in the drawer.
