As @Zebras mentioned you can’t compare these like this, a totally different algorithm being used, and yes different manufacturers have a different way if if doing things, and as been mentioned your not getting the full use of the Phonak anyway with the feedback cutting in like it is, but your happy with that so hardly matters now.
You need to fit both in-situ using NAL formula and turn off the frequency compression use the same acoustics (receiver output) to get even close, but trying to set them up exactly as the Phonak is fruitless like this.
So have you set the AX up without frequency compression? just to see how they sound, it’s a known fact that not everyone likes the end result of using this because of audible artifacts, warbling sounds etc
Sometimes you need Pro help to get things sounding in that “sweet spot” things like REM to see what the true output is with those AX models.
You should of been able to find a setting that your totally happy with by now unfortunately.
i think your misunderstand i was just showing the difference in those graphs. i use the same audiogram to start. and i did in situ with both fittings. i was showing the differences and asking why is it that with the same starting point i get so much difference at the ending points?
i tried the signia without compression but it was lacking so i set it up the same as phonak.
yes i got both sets of aids to work good, however i still have a bit of a time with the wifes speech, with the signia and i’m tweaking them a bit at a time but like the phonak over the signia, i still use the signia to try and get use to them.
i started this post just to find out if the phonak happen to have bluetooth because it showed up in the fine turning part of the program, but it must be a default and just shows up for all devices during fitting.
by the way the audi i was seeing for setting up these signias had them so loud that if paper hit the table it hurt my ears. when i set them myself and we had a discussion on that she connected up to them and took my program out and left her program in them when i left. i had to remove her program again and put mine back in. so seeing a pro sometimes does not work. that is why i started doing this myself. not one pro could get them correct, there favorite words is you’ll just have to get use to it. thanks
Yes I did understand that part, as in why are they different and my answer stands the same, different algorithm, so ok you in-situ and both are exactly the same in this regard, again different algorithm used = different outputs = the difference you are seeing.
You can’t have both, but I guess your saying you did in-situ and that is your “audiogram”
Now let’s talk about the receiver, you have power on the Phonak right, so what is fitted to the AX?
next you compare the output to those very different receivers and you now have “different outputs” which will show like in your graph.
And yes I do remember you saying that you could not find an audiologist that set your HAs how you like them, so when I said you need a bit of help from the pros was to get REM done, this could all it is to make the AX sound ok for you.
If your happy with the V30 compared to the he AX for speech then you could update the V30.
It does have Bluetooth by using the optional accessories compilot ll and others.
great thanks i did not know the v30 was capable for these. i may just look for what would be the better choice? being i have never had anything for comparison? the signia uses something called a mic and that tv streamer that stays connected to the tv and i can take the mic with me. so what device for the phonak is comparable? i see you put an x next to the roger x/ phonak compilot ll. is that like a portable mic like the signia mic is?
also is there a tv streamer for these is that the tvlin ll shown above?
so if i was to do an ebay for a roger x/phonak compilot ll i should get a streamer that will work with my v30 aids and the same for the tv streamer?
will these devices work on all phonak aids? unlike the streamer for the signia that seems to only work on a few devices.
i know you can’t use both audiogram and in situ i put in the audiogram and the setup in situ and used in situ. they give you the option but i put inthe audiogram to see the difference. thanks
Ok so Phonak say the TVLink II is compatible with your V30 and that Compilot ll, you can fit the Roger X into the bottom of the compilot ll, we’ll need to call out @Zebras or @kevels55 on what exactly you can do with this?
Hopefully it’s a remote microphone compatible, otherwise they have the bluetooth mic, but I can’t recommend it over the Roger accessories.
As this is all older technology you’ll be able to find these items on eBay at a very fair price.
