Streaming in only right ear
OK Annah, you say “despite both working independently…” Does that mean your aids aren’t programmed to work as a PAIR, so that touching a button on either aid would automatically control the other (as in raise/lower volume, change program)?
What make/model/year are your aids? You say the problem is only when using Android phone, so have you tested them streaming the TV, audio from a computer, or some such device? Be sure BOTH aids are turned ON. Believe me, I’ve popped a battery aid in my ear only to realize I didn’t shut the battery door, so that aid is OFF.
I can only recommend that you “forget” both aids in Bluetooth on your phone, then start the process over: turn BT OFF, then ON, now “find” nearby devices to pair, select your aids (they should show up in the list), you may be able to re-connect them so that BOTH aids will stream audio.
The way I test that out is to call some robo-answered number. Like ANYTHING from Medicare, or Costco, or some other main number with a robo-answer. You should hear audio in both aids. Keep us posted, cuz you definitely want to resolve this!
I was thinking that. If they are set up separately, Android will only connect to one of them, as Classic Bluetooth will only connect to one pair at a time for streaming (I’ve tried). All 6 of my HA pairs are paired to my phone, but only will connect per session. Whereas, TV Connector and Roger will connect to all 6 pairs simultaneously.
HUM! Now that is something I never even dreamed of trying that! I only have TWO distinct pairs of 312 Phonak Lumity Life aids (one in Precious Pink, the other in Caribbean Pirate), and was arm-twisted into cross-licensing them to my Roger mics - even had to REMOVE the license from one of my two pairs of rechargeable aids to make that happen.
Clearly, you DIYers are in a league of your own!
I have a better one for you. It’s called “Loopback Test”.
Back in my years as a telcom tech, I discovered this great tool. When you dial the number it doesn’t ring, but sets up a 2 way voice path, so when you speak into your phone, you’ll receive the words back.
This proves you have duplex opereation.

What aids? What phone?
I’m thinking the OP may have paired both hearing aids for calls, which isn’t how it works
Not really . Some of them came with licenses already installed, others I obtained from buying Roger Xs off Ebay and a TableMic II iN off here
I’m scared. Don’t wanna get on some SPAM call list… This would work on a landline, too? Cuz I have one of those I could try dialing in from.
That is a BARGAIN!!! These licenses cost $2Gs each, so if you bought your aids with the license in them, then you’d need the DIY path to get them connected to your Roger mic. And therein lies the challenge (at least for me).
Hi @PeterH. Did you manage to find anything in Target, regarding using the rocker switch to control volume on each aid independently. Phonak Lumity/Paradise/KS10 etc? Thanks.
Lumity has the option but not Paradise.
Thanks Ruth. I do tend to use the switches for adjustments more than my phone. Will just have to wait for my next set of aids.
In what regard Michael?
About the cost of receivers and difficulty with linking them to the aids. Bluejay got ripped off by her audi and phonak rep and was told she needed two Rogers and four licenses costing an arm and a leg.
No need to DIY, once receivers are inside the Aids, it’ll take all of 1 second to connect them to the Roger Mic.
@Annah
What model and maker of hearing aids ?
What model of phone?
Have you tried these steps ?
- delete/unpair the hearing aids from the phone,
- restart the phone ,
- restart hearing aids
- and pair the hearing aids again to the phone
Just had a look, and @Zebras is right. I have Marvel, Paradise and Lumity aids and only Lumity offers that option, which I’ve enabled. However, I’ve noticed the volumes are still linked with the TV connector. All 3 generations have the Mute/unmute microphone option.
Peter
Ah yes, sorry I misread what you meant. All good.
Yes, @1Bluejay was seriously misguided, especially by Phonak themselves. I could have all 6 pairs of my HAs connected to any of my 3 Roger microphones, at the same time. When switching between HAs, I sometimes need to re-pair them, but that takes all of 5 seconds. Obviously, Roger licences need to be installed in every pair, byt you don’t need 2 Roger Ons. It’s good she has a spare though.
