Hearing Aid Fitting DIY School and Fitting Software

Selamat pagi. Anda seharusnya dapat menggunakan Connexx 9.7.0 versi terbaru alih-alih Connexx8 yang lebih lama.

There are many/many Connexx versions. Though, for Signia hearing aids I think you would want one of these three versions;

  • Connexx6.5.5/SiFit6.10 for Signia older/legacy.
  • Connexx7.5.2/SiFit7.5.1 for Signia intermediary/legacy. This special intermediary version has an Updater but there are no updates for this version so you might as well choose the (do not activate Update Manager) option. Also this special intermediary version cannot co-exist with the Newer/Current version described immediately below.
  • Connexx9.7.0/SiFit9.7.0 (or latest) for Signia Newer/Current. This version will likely have future updates.

New user - looking for the Genie 2 software - newest if available, but obviously older will work and can be upgraded. So 2022.2 or the one before would be great! I have a Oticon More 1 from the VA and appts are difficult to get quickly so I’m going the DIY route to adjust, (have the low hiss others have discussed).
Thanks!

Sure, but don’t forget you’ll need the Noahlink wireless programming device as well.

I would appreciate a link to Oticon Genie2 2022. As I understand it, this is the only Genie required for Oticon More. Is any other software required to fit it with CROS PX?
Many thanks!

I created new clients in genie2. In client1 I wanted to save the configuration of hearing aids made by my Audi, but by mistake I did not save the settings. I set the client2 according to my preferences and saved the data. Is it possible to return to the original settings for my audi?

Unfortunately not Altho you could go back to your Audi, otherwise you’ve lost your original setting.

First of all the practice of creating two clients (one to save your settings and another do whatever) is a hairbrained/foolish idea that serves no useful purpose except to further complicate this issue.

The place to save your original professional settings in the first session of one client named “YOU/yourname”. Then you don’t have to remember any silly multiple names! Sessions are never overwritten. Your original settings will always be session #1!! Tip: Sometimes when client/sessions are displayed only the latest session is displayed and you will need to click an expansion arrow > in order to expand the session display.

Secondly, you Audi will always know when any settings were saved to the hearing aids because it is based on timestamps that will prompt a warning when the HA timestamp has a mismatch to your Audi’s database. You audi will always restore his/her database settings to the hearing aids after they get a mismatch. They have no other reasonable choice. Think about it from their viewpoint (should I use my professional settings or should I use an amateur’s settings?).

So go back to your Audi. Don’t mention your accidental overwrite of the settings. Mention that your are trying tweaks to his/her professional settings. But that you respect the original professional settings. After the audi visit your original settings plus any new audi tweaks will be restored in your HAs.

If you like your new settings I wouldn’t worry about it, unless your audiologist is going to help you with your DIY, you don’t need her/him any more, your DIY now so go for it
The only thing you did wrong was not saving your audiologist settings in your first client, in future if you get your original settings back, not only save that first fitting (client) you can also as a back up, export the fitting to your desktop or wherever on your hard drive, this way you’ll always have a copy.

If you remember what changes you made, then it’s the same as if you had saved your settings. Just keep personal notes about what the changes were.

Since your Audi will always know that the settings are different (whether you saved them or not) any Audi visit will always result in restoring the original settings.

Thanks to everyone for the answers. I think I have imprecisely described the problem. The settings made by the audi irritated me because when someone spoke louder I heard too many sounds / sh /. Wanted to tweak the settings, I had the idea with client 1 and client 2, (i save to the database and save the HA), because I asked my Audi if I could program my hearing aids myself, she made big eyes and said it was not allowed. Now I know that my next visit will be a challenge.

I also need a visit to my audi because I don’t know how to pair connectClip (from Bernafon), actually I have xceed 1 from Oticon.

You can do that your self, open up Genie2 and plug the connectclip ( would need to connectclip/microphone) into your USB port on the PC, there’s settings in genie to pair it to your HAs, I can’t remember the exact procedure as I no longer use Oticon, but it’s very easy to do.

Edit:
Also I’m not sure if the bernafon branded products will work, but one way to find out is try connecting.

I didn’t mean to direct that as criticism of you personally. Instead, it is just criticism in general. I only have two things remaining on my Pet Peeves List; :wink:

  1. Paying for free fitting software
  2. Multiple client names used to represent obscure hearing aid setting descriptions

In the past there was a third Pet Peeve of mine. That is, referring to Noah, NOAHlink, and Noahlink Wireless as the same. This name confusion seems not so important anymore. It has been a long time since someone has bought a NOAHlink in place of Noahlink Wireless, and very few people are asking how to get a Noah license anymore.

@pcv, I didn’t take your message as a criticism, paradoxically you reassured me with your reply, thank you. I am so impressed with the work you put into creating your guides for people who want to program their own hearing aids, I don’t know how I can express my gratitude and appreciation for the time and knowledge you share here. I wrote my question under the influence of panic, strong emotions, I think I’m too worried about the likely reaction of my Audi, with which I have a meeting next week.

@tenkan, yes, connectClip from Bernafon didn’t work with Oticon Aids :(.

No need to feel like this, afterall the HAs are owned by you, you can do what you like, you don’t need your audiologists permission to make adjustments, in fact they may well be supportive!

Thanks for confirming bernafon branded products don’t work with Oticon.

@jamesjw2 Screen Clip from Connexx 9.7.0;

Hello,

Lifelong hearing aid user here, last new one was purchased in 2012 and it’s time for a new one. Could someone provide me with a link to download the Phonak Target 7.3 software? Thanks!

Sure, but don’t forget you’ll need the correct programming device as well for DIY.

Hello !
I am seeking Genie 2. Can you help me ?
