Hearing aid dryer oops

Probably a silly question but I accidentally put my Phonak Nadia in my Lux hearing aid dryer still turned on and with the batteries inside. I didn’t realise as I couldn’t hear them squealing in the box. When I realised, after a full drying cycle :grimacing:, I turned them off and changed the batteries before powering them up again. I’m sure it’s fine, but is there any chance I could have damaged the aids themselves?

If there was no leakage from the battery (doubted)- it is highly unlikely.

If nothing burst open, they’re probably okay.

Thank you @AttilaDaPun
No leakage, I just panicked as the instructions say not to leave the batteries inside and certainly don’t leave them turned on :joy:

@Bimodal_user they were just very warm when I took them out so I wanted to make sure I hadn’t baked the internals somehow. Thank you

If your Lux is Perfect Dry Lux, the temperature inside is limited to a rather low 35-C maximum. I’m sure life will be good for your devices!
Hope this helps give peace of mind,
Paul

Yeah, that’d be a :flushed: moment!

@Tee - Did you have surgery yet? You doing okay? You drying HAs under the influence? :joy:

@AttilaDaPun haha, not yet. Pre-op assessment on the 4th. I have a ridiculous list of questions to ask them and things to check. Wait lists are weird here, it’s like everything happens all at once or not at all.

The US Army has long had a critique of military life - I heard it when I was a kid, from veterans of World War 2. “Hurry up and wait!”

You getting a CI? My CI surgery is due on the 5th. All the best, if you are.

@Zebras no, not a CI for me (yet?) but an op under general which I’ve never had before.

Good luck for your op. I hope it goes really well and CI makes a great difference.
