Has anyone trialed the Sennheiser Sonite R

Does anyone have any experience yet with the Sennheisers available at Costco?

It is believed to be the same as or similar to the Phonak Lumity 90. There are a lot of reviews of those aids that you can find on the forum.

Thanks for the reply. And yes I have read many reviews of the Lumity’s. But the problem is, no one is SURE that the S’s are the same. And if they are similar, what are the similarities and differences?
Anywho, happy t’giving…

I’ve been wondering the same thing?

You could try to compare some specs here, might be able to get some insight.

Phonak Lumity.

Sennheiser-Sonite

Thanks for the spec sheets. Problem is that I’m not sure what I’m looking at - lol. Don’t know how to compare or interpret those graphs. I guess what I’m asking is for someone to say those are/are not, same/similar numbers. There are many reviews of the Lumity’s. Do these S numbers tell me they are the same as L’s? Or are they “kinda” like the S’s? BTW, from what I’m reading I don’t doubt that the 2 are very close.
Guess I’ll wait til folks start to post any results.

These should be quite similar to the Lumity. Don’t know if they will come with tinnitus masking feature but if they do Costco won’t implement it. This is no big deal because if you want tinnitus masking one can download app and send it to your hearing aids via phone. Other than that, I’m unaware of potential differences. On earlier Phonak aids the microphone openings were different but these look the same. Great aid for ~$1500. Not Phonak’s latest, but for $1500 it’s still a great deal.

Has there been any word about Costco green lighting these for general sale and if so when we might see them in the UK based on previous experience?

I asked my Costco audiologist if she had heard any rumors regarding the Sennheisers coming to the UK. Nothing so far.

There’s another thread where it’s mentioned that one Costco in the US wasn’t enthused about them so it’s uncertain if they’ll even become distributed widely in the US. We should know more by May.

For what its worth, I’m wearing these now and love them. Had KS9, went to Reach and then got the SoniteR because the Reach doesn’t play nice with Android/streaming/phone calls.

You didn’t say what phone and model you are using, but if you are using an old phone, then I can see why you would want an old technology hearing aid.

So folks need to understand, that if you want LE audio with Auracast, then the old hearing aid technology will not work.

I’m using the Samsung S23+.
Not old. Supposed to be Auracast compatible. I wanted to use LE Audio with my Rexton Reach set. When I enabled it nothing would stream. Using ASHA sucks and was not reliable. I started missing work calls, and not being able to hear my callers I did connect with.

The new tech isn’t ready for prime time. The old tech is better by miles, for now.

I just had a remote adjustment session with Costco. My tech was able to change a few settings without my needing to leave the house. That’s impressive. Saved me a 90 minute drive to that location. These Sennheiser aids are really nice.

You could even do this in your own time without internet or from any help from aclinic, all you’ll need is a Noahlink wireless and a laptop, glad you like the Sennheiser rebranded Phonak models.

ASHA seems to work just fine with my Philips 9040 and a Pixel 6a. However, when I update my hearing aids, I won’t be buying old technology.

Anyhow, as long you are happy and know you are buying old technology, then that’s all that matters to you.

I have te SoniteR. Love the connectivity to blue tooth. Similar functions to the kirkland KS 10.
Good sound quality. Better automatic adjusting.
Connects to all Android devices, TV’s, laptop. Does NOT have LE bluetooth. Has tap control. The volume buttons become fader when streaming. (IE turns down external sounds). Can connect to provider via video chat and make adjustments remotely! Love it so far.

I have had the KS10s for years and am very pleased with them. Their Bluetooth performance is absolutely perfect with my Windows and Android devices.
I sent a message to my COSTCO in Superior, CO asking them to let me know when/if they get the Sonite R hearing aids.

A reply from Sennheiser:
"Thank you for your update. Unfortunately, there are no Costco stores in Colorado that currently carry the Sonite R hearing aids.

However, you can inquire at the following Costco locations that may have them:

369 Overland Park, KS – 66213
625 Strongsville, OH – 44136

You might try again and call a local Costco. I just noticed that my local Costco who did not have them last week, have them now. One of the moderators on this forum said that the Sennheisers would be rolling out to all Costco stores in the very near future.

My local store in Matthews NC now carries them. This makes me happy to know that I can go there for support/warranty and the people will recognize the product.
