Has anyone else experienced this after a covid jab?

If the medical profession operated the way the average layperson thinks, we’d all be dead long ago. This is one of the most important tenets of medicine.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc

I would agree! And yet … My 98 yr old mom wore her AirTamer daily for 3 years - never got Covid. Hubs & I wore ours, ditto. Plus I never get sick after long trips. (It’s not the plane that’s the prob, it’s the huge, unsanitary airports and all the rest of the picture.)

Thanks for sharing tho, cuz that is something we’d never see up at AirTamer.com!

The AirTamer itself may be working and doing what the manufacturer says it does, but in the real world, it is ineffective. In a sealed room with no outside input of air, it could potentially do what they say. In the open environment, there is so much air circulation and movement and mixing that there is no way that this thing will accomplish anything. (BTW, I tend to shy away from any company that claims that studies have proven something but doesn’t give you direct links to the studies).

VERY TRUE. I am similarly jaded, and only base my experiences here based on a statistically insignificant sample size of THREE.

And for the record, who knows if I got Covid? It just means that whatever dose I got was low enough (or I’m healthy enough) that I never even got tested, therefore still don’t know if I’ve ever had it.

What I am tracking is the coincidence and incidence of post-jab symptoms, and that’s where I’m seeing a pattern for me of sciatica coming on after both the Covid booster and the stronger, senior-oriented flu vaccines.

I’ve never had covid a
nd yet I work in nursing homes every single day. I have been vaccinated, and I don’t use the AirTamer.

Well, you’ve stated three possible sources of your tinnitus: covid, blocked sinuses, and the booster. and then we should factor in the unknown causes. I’m no doctor but would assume that complications from Covid are a more likely suspect than the booster, followed by sinus issues.
I was intrigued by the link to a stanford paper above; but right off the bat the authors advocate for more funding to study the phenomenon. I mean, they’re advertising for a government grant. i’ve seen this before. The authors have a reason for highlighting their suspicions: grant money.
Has anyone ever proposed a theory as to why a covid booster would cause tinnitus? flu shots have been given for years with no such correlation. Of course the RNA vaccines are new. But how in the world would they cause tinnitus?
Millions get these boosters, and then some have an onset of tinnitus. As everyone knows, coincidence does not prove causality. If you give a million people vitamin C, some will report the onset of tinnitus, or arthritis or flu directly after. I hope you see my point.’
All that being said, who knows? Maybe there is a direct correlation.

This is the most dispassionate review of whether there’s any relationship between Covid vaccination and increased tinnitus: COVID-19 Vaccine and Tinnitus: What We Know (healthline.com).

Relative to @drcrandon’s excellent reference to “post hoc ergo proper hoc,” (Has anyone else experienced this after a covid jab? - #23 by drcrandon), it’s estimated that 10% of the U.S. population overall suffers tinnitus to some degree (too many loud music concerts, too many loud earbuds?!) and 27% of the population age 65 or older. So what’s the likelihood in that HUGE population in the U.S. that someone just happens to have their tinnitus increase after a Covid jab for some reason and attributes it to the vaccination? And most published papers say the reported incidence of such an increase is very low. The same for myocardial injury. I didn’t bother to see where Dr. John Campbell got his 1 in 35 figure for myocardial injury caused by vaccination, but most published reports say the incidence of myocardial injury is at the level of several additional cases per 100,000 people inoculated. The risk of having myocardial injury from Covid or the common flu is far greater. Campbell has also been an ivermectin promoter so …

Everyone should have to take a good health course in high school that thoroughly discusses epidemiology and statistics.

I am not disputing that one cannot suffer tinnitus or myocardial injury if one gets a Covid booster, flu shot, RSV vaccination, etc. From what little I know, it seems unlikely, but it’s a risk vs. benefit evaluation for everyone to do on their own with their doctor’s advice. What I did mean to previously question is small group, uncontrolled, not blind studies that “several of us got …; therefore it’s a general phenomenon and everyone’s at risk…”

The placebo effect is a well-established medical fact. There’s probably an anti-placebo effect, too (if you think something bad is going to happen to you because of doing X, you’re sure to find something to blame on X…). And with the Internet, you can probably find someone else in the whole wide world who also thinks the same thing happened to them because of X. There is so much variability in the world, we need to be much more careful how we sort things out to avoid going off the rails when we shouldn’t.

Btw… John Campbell is a RN, not a doctor. I like the way he can analyze medical topics and review them in an understandable way for the general public. I used to watch him quite a bit, but then he started presenting his own theories, not backed by any type of empirical or evidence-based medicine. That’s when I stopped watching him

Yes, there’s a “No-cebo” effect, mentioned often with relationship to statins. On the other hand, the tendency to make these kind of inferences is hard wired into us and I suspect we all tend to do it to a certain extent.

That is incredible! The entire Parliament walked out! Guess you don’t have free speech there huh? Or at least it isn’t supported. I mean WHEN did it happen that we are Unable to listen to opposing view points? When did we become so freaking soft?

so funny, I’ve never heard of the AirTamer.

@georgiasunflower Not sure what do you want me to reply to that, assuming you’ve understood from the pandemic’s global response what the 99% of people are against; But, your questions are legitimate.
On another note, one thing that came to my mind is Amber turd’s meme:

I envy your immune system! Cuz working in a nursing home, what with visitors coming and going, and the close quarters folks live in, well, it’s fabulous that you’ve dodged the bullet!

Believe me… I am as surprised as you are. I feel like my wife and I are the only persons I know that haven’t had COVID. There is a slight chance I might have been one of the very first people to get it… In January of 2019 I got pretty sick. Basically flu type symptoms. And it was flu season. So I figured it was just the flu. Then a couple weeks after I recovered I started thinking hey maybe it was COVID. But I got my first vaccination before I even thought about getting tested for antibodies

FWIW, I’ve had 7 Covid shots: 2 original, 4 boosters plus the new shot late last month. I also had an RSV shot in early Sep. and plan to get the flu shot this week. With all of them I’ve had at most a slight fever & felt a little tired the next day but with the last Covid shot, no noticeable reaction.

Also, I’ve not had Covid, so far and I don’t want it either…

If 99% of us truly agreed what we were for or against, there wouldn’t be a problem. I think the issue is that we live in different realities and can’t agree on what the facts are or even how to determine what a fact is.

@MDB True, very true, you hit the head on the nail.
That’s why people who are in charge and know the truth will do everything in their power to confuse the rest, they call it divide and bouncer.

To reply to @LRav maybe worth getting your GP to investigate, I suppose you could get an appointment at an ENT near you!
The sooner the better.

Agreed MDB, we seem to live in some parallel world, where truth and fiction are so intertwined, that only half the lies spouted on the internet, are true :upside_down_face: Of course, politicians shoulder much of the blame, but also many of the population, whom are gullible enough to believe them, simply because it suits their own rhetoric! As for Covid Jabs, I have had 3, (shortly to be 4) on 2 of these vaccinations, almost immediately, (within a couple of hours) my hearing gradually went down to almost zero, then gradually returned to normal over the next few days… On the first occasion, I just thought, it’s worth the risk, it’s better to have some protection, than none at all… Cheers Kev :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve had my 6th jab around 10 days ago.

I wonder if that’s the cause of my hearing decline even tho my medical treatment that I’m having, I’ve been told I’m a risk of hearing loss. My hearing hasn’t returned tho.
