Thanks for the news, very interesting.
Where can I read all the technical specifications? I would like to know if it also covers my level of deafness.
I heard about these last week during my audi visit and I was told I would get a set to trial when they do their soft opening…
There’s some on their website ReSound Vivia
I’ll be waiting for the software update to see more.
“World’s best for hearing in noise”
ReSound shows no shame, so move on over Phonakians with your Sphere, we have a new kid on the block.
Also the Woulds First “Auracast Assistant” plus confirming that 5.3 Bluetooth is required 5.2 won’t make the cut!
Interesting. But I am very skeptical. While i want to not have background noise drowned out my speech understanding. I want to be able to hear the sounds around me for my own safety. I want to hear the AC unit, the refrigerator, birds, vehicle engines and road noise. Also birds and all sounds of nature that are possible to hear. I have tried aids that literally removed so many background sounds that they were unsafe.
Well so far i haven’t seen any reason to have auracast around where I live. But I have to say that le audio is great with my INTENT1 aids and Samsung S23
Is this the first Auracast compatible aid with a disposable battery option? The size 13 version also still includes a telecoil. The 312 and rechargeable versions do not have a telecoil inside the aids.
Well yeah their claiming the “First”
Edit: could be disposal as well as rechargeable, I can’t tell?
Can’t find any support docs yet.
I can see there it’s both rechargeable and disposable for LE Audio with Auracast capability, nice.
“…with hands-free phone calls from compatible Apple iOS devices.”
No Android?!
@birdcountry99
Well let me say something here. I have the Oticon INTENT1 aids they are le audio an I have the Samsung S23 phone and I have full hands free.
Oticon is a winner in that category!
From the Hearing Tracker article referenced by Abram in his OP post:
At present, GN’s newer ReSound, Beltone, and Jabra Enhance devices are the only hearing aids that are fully activated to receive Auracast broadcasts (i.e., no future firmware updates are needed like other “Auracast-ready” hearing aids). Apple and Windows 11 PCs can also pair directly with hearing aids with Bluetooth LE Audio. Finally, some newer Android phones also offer the ability to change the hearing aid pre-sets in the native settings of the phone.
Seems to indicate iPhone users will continue to “enjoy” MFI connectivity. I wonder when the BT LE Audio ship is going to come in for the iPhone, if ever. Perhaps that’s what’s holding up the “Auracast-ready” HAs referenced in the quote? Waiting for Apple …
Was reading the promised report on the new aids from ReSound. GN Launches ReSound Vivia AI-Driven Hearing Aids; Savi Essential Product Family
Does anyone know if either of these aids will be available with ultra power for profound / severe users?
The marketing say this new aid is "Built to Have It All” but doesn’t mention power as far as I can see.
Just to answer my own question here, I’ve had a reply from ReSound on this and they say the following;
Unfortunately the Vivia and Savi do not supply a super/ultra power option and the Enzo Q is still currently the latest model.
So this is the end of ReSound for me I will switch to another brand this year.
