…and maybe Oticon, Widex, Signia too. Only Phonak still hold their Naida fresh.
Yes but only at this time, they never said they won’t be releasing one, just not now, but they are well over due for an upgrade so a new release could still be on the cards this year.
I noticed the Cross hearing system will also be available.
Lots of Cochlear customers out there using Resound aids too. Many are using SP and UP aids. I sure think a new UP will be out soon.
New White Paper:
Organic Hearing drives user preference for Intelligent Focus (274.5 KB)
The Enzo Q technology is 6 years old, so I think it’s fair to say the high power segment is low down in their priorities. I’ve been very happy with their stuff and have been with them for 14 years, currently two sets of Enzo Q (for a backup) and all the accessories.
I hope so too. I was so happy when I switched to them a long time ago, the warmth of the sound really struck me and made my life a lot easier. Helped me a lot over the years.
Very interesting paper. I should search for this type of research more frequently. Thanks for posting it.
The methodology here is questionable at best. In Study 3 there isn’t even noise at the same place as the speech which is totally unrealistic for most loud environments (there’s usually noise behind the person across the table at the restaurant or at the cocktail party). It seems to me these manufacturers can figure out ways to make their hearing aids look great because they know exactly how they work. So they design the study to optimize their own performance. That’s why what Phonak did for the Sphere seems honest. Just surround someone with noise 360 degrees and see how well they can hear speech from any direction.
Yes I agree, what I found fascinating about the Resound paper was how weak it seemed. Sample size, loss type, aid experience, type of tests, predictability of tests, location of tests, duration of testing, statistical analysis. Wouldn’t stand up to peer review.

I am picking up my Jabra Enhance Pro 20 aids tomorrow and curious when Jabra will release their Vivia version. It looks like the Nexia was released in Oct 2023 and the EP20 followed in Feb 2024. That would suggest a Vivia equivalent sometime this summer, and near the end of my return period. I specifically asked, prior to the Vivia announcement, if I could upgrade if a newer version was imminent and was told no problem. Looking forward to reading the reviews!
We’ll be testing them at HearAdvisor soon.
I am blind and have had a moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss for 46 years. I started with Phonak and then Starkey BTE’s. I began having the most problems when transitioning from analog BTE’s to digital RIC’s! I purchased a pair of Resound 9 61 Quatro Rechargeable hearing aids 5 years ago. The RIC aids are set at a little higher MPO. I have been using hard skeletal earmolds all my life and only had feedback problems with the RIC type of aids.
The Resound reps would help the audiologist to fix this problem but the issue always seems to returned after about six months. I love the Resound aids when they are working, but they are always in the shop.
Since I have had a history feedback and compression problems in the right hearing aid, let me ask you this question.
How much better are BTE than RIC hearing aids when it comes to eliminating feedback?
Maybe I’ll try a set of rechargeable BTE Resound for my next purchase?
Maybe this is the answer to my problem?this
What do you think?
Generally RICs are less prone to feedback due to the fact your are separating the speaker/receiver (which sits in your ear canal) from the microphone (behind your ear) by a greater distance. By comparison, in a BTE the mic and speaker are much closer to one another (both behind the ear). I’m notbsure why your experience differed but there are several variables at play that could affect this (e.g. vent size, tuning, fit of the mould etc.)
This is the main reason why we backed off them as a supplier.
Since Quattro, their product line has been like a series of good and well intended ideas that are badly executed.
The shame is; their concepts, accessories and individual advances are excellent. After over 20 years of dealing with them; IMHO they’ve got the reputation as sort of company you’d be happy to buy a posh corkscrew from, but not a car.
Abram, thx for the info. and please post when the Vivia’s are available and if they are sending out demo’s to try??
They have introduced a new mic filter that users can change, that would fix 4 out of the 5 shop returns that I’ve done over the last 16 years with them. Just mentioning in case you didnt see this in their marketing stuff.
It’s good to see that there are improvements being made in the industry, even if those improvements may not apply to everyone’s needs.
I had to visit audi to get my ears flushed of wax and was told that the new vivia demo’s should be released the 1st week of March??
