GN Hearing ReSound Auracast Accessories USB-C

Looks like GN Hearing have some Auracast accessories

ReSound TV Streamer+

Multi-Mic+

Wonder if they will work with e.g. Oticon Intent / Philips 9050 hearing aids too as it’s based on Auracast.

Seems a bit cheaper than the Oticon EduMic and has a table microphone mode.

My possibly faulty understanding from when I looked this up some time ago was that the streamer required a connection to a resound hearing aid before auracast would work. So it worked for second and subsequent devices. Could be wrong but definitely do some research before buying.

I have acquired a MultiMic+ for evaluation. It is controlled using the Smart 3D app, but it cannot be paired with the app unless a pair of ReSound Nexia devices is already paired with it. It seems to me that ReSound has missed the intentions behind LE Audio and Auracast.

OEM’s like to have captive audiences.

I thought Bluetooth either requires an assistant like the one in the S23 and S24, or a dedicated app from the manufacture.

Does anyone have a S23 or S24 to see if it connects a Philips 9050 hearing aid with the Resound streamer?

Yes that’s probably true. Wondering if Roger will get on to using Auracast that will be supported by all the hearing aid manufacturers, then again that’s part of Phonak.

If Apple launched a decent auracast accessories to go along with the Air Pod Pro 3 would they lock it down to that product too or encourage all the hearing aid manufacturers to support it.

Good question.
Apple is pretty walled
garden.
My personal belief is, Auracast will take off when and if Apple gets on board.
That would make Apple products compatible with others. You could use an iPhone with a Windows computer.
Then you have if it takes off Apple could be left behind.
Gets interesting.

According to an article I just read this morning, Tim Smith, Apple’s CEO, has set the future of the company as follows: “Cook envisions Apple’s biggest contribution in the future being in health, with a focus on making advanced health features available through everyday wearables. This includes expanding Apple Watch’s capabilities to detect serious conditions like AFib and sleep apnea, and transforming AirPods into accessible hearing devices.” If Auracast becomes popular, then Apple will get on board.
