I think the three should be allowed to view this thread. And required to view it before returning.
I just ignore the “angry old men” but certainly understand that some find them offensive. There are legitimate differences of opinion here and some misinformation. I an generally against censorship but recognize that moderation of a public board is necessary.
This is a good move in my opinion, it would be a shame for someone not to find the information they are looking for because some people insist on filling the threads with useless spam. A “favorite” of mine Rename Phonak Audeo P90
I’ve had two out of the three on ignore for a while. Now three for three.
Thanks for stepping in!
I am new to the forum and have noticed some rude and inappropriate comments on some threads but I do not remember who it was. I also noticed a couple of threads devolve far from the initial topic. So it is good to know that the forum enforces appropriate comments and behavior.
I was surprised ProdigyPlace was one of them because he has been helpful to me on my posts and sent a PM to provide more info. My impression is that tries to be helpful. I certainly hope that he is reinstated (cannot speak to the other two one way or the other).
Thank you! I never understood why they were allowed to get away with the bad behavior. This forum did not benefit from their posts. I support your actions to restore the dignity and value this community offers to all of us.
I agree but also notice others too, even myself at times in the past. I have even asked for a post of mine locked because of off subject posting
Everyone goes a little off topic from time to time. There is a big difference between an off topic comment and people who purposefully troll other members into an argument followed by an online brawl full of insults and personal attacks. My own rule of thumb is to refrain from commenting unless I am asking a question or providing advice in response to someone else’s question(s). And most importantly…I always try to be respectful of other opinions even if I don’t agree.
Works for me and keeps me out of forum jail

Thank you!
I have noticed this too, and it makes me sad to see people being unkind to each other instead of helpful.
Sad, but seemingly needed move. Hopefully, they will come back within the guidelines.
I agree as well.
The difference is rude and controlling. That’s the part that is not right for the forum in my opinion.
Chuck you are always helpful and polite.
Thank you I just want to help if I can.
Somewhat torn here @AbramBaileyAuD, I regard the 3 as kinda internet friends, but I do try to see both sides, in every argument, and on various occasions, I have tried to defuse certain situations… And yes, some threads have a tendency to meander, but they usually get back on track. I do try to understand things from your perspective @AbramBaileyAuD, its most definitely not easy, far from it! I do not like censorship in any way shape or form, I know there have to be rules, without which we have anarchy… I do not believe any of the 3 are “Keyboard Warriors”, I think at heart they all have good intentions, perhaps their choice of words could be better used, and then it would not be misinterpreted, all 3 are heavy users of sarcasm, and that is easily misunderstood!!! Sarcasm is my favourite form of wit, but most times, I purposely do not use it on this forum, for the reasons above… Personally, I was an Admin/Mod (Now Retired) for many years on a private football/soccer website & forum, run by Celtic & Rangers fans, they hated each other with some venom but we made it work, a few relative bans, a few suspensions, but TBH, not too many. So, this could possibly be my last post, I have enjoyed helping my fellow hard of hearing on here over many years, hopefully I was able to assist some folks to a better hearing experience in some small way… Thank you Abram, for this opertunity to voice our opinions, you are the Boss, and you run this site as you see fit, I don’t think I would have banned or suspended them, but that’s me, I don’t walk in your shoes, as always I wish you nothing but good fortune, in your endeavours for the HOH world… Best Wishes, and Kindest Regards Kev
I’m taking it all in. Thanks all for sharing your perspectives. It has thus far been a breath of fresh air to see this thread stay friendly and on track, with some divergent opinions expressed in a civil manner.
I know people like the trio and understand where they are coming from with their sarcasm. But sparring and sarcasm are not easily understood to new members. While it is entertaining for those who know one another a long time to poke, it is not helpful, and sometimes hurtful to many visiting for the first time. Saying anything is easily googled makes someone feel unwelcome and misses the intent of their post - needing support in a tough situation. I have learned much here and tried to contribute with a positive approach. I have been dismayed at some of the comments since they put people off who don’t know to just do an eyeroll and ignore. Thanks for caring.
Chuck, you are most helpful and I learn lots from you. Thank you.
Thank you appreciate your reply
@AbramBaileyAuD , thank you for being a good forum moderator and monitoring this forum & the posters. I have learned so much from this forum and enjoy just reading about areas to know other folks areas of concern. I have seen the ‘three’ and was out off by remarks & comments, many being off topic , which takes away from the Original Posters question, concern or observations about hearing and or hearing aids. I’m glad you stepped up to get things squared away. I’m of the opinion that these ‘three’ will be go away in a huff. I hope so. Makes your job less complicated. Thank you @AbramBaileyAuD for all you do here. It’s appreciated.
Thank you for your reply @AbramBaileyAuD… I believe, prevention is always better than cure, a friendly or not so friendly PM, would go a long way to stopping folks in their tracks, before things get out of hand… Cheers Kev
I am completely unbothered by off topic posting if it is friendly, and I am sure I have sometimes contributed to that. I like to see people having a good time, and I like seeing that some users on here are long-term-friendly with eachother. Like at a party, engaging conversation drifts.
I used to be part of a ListServe where there was a general understanding that after X number of off topic posts someone could call it out (and there was a standard, friendly way to do that) and the conversation would have to be moved to another thread and marked “off topic” so that members who weren’t interested could use their mail filters to ignore it.
