Dear Phonak, your Lumity battery isn't good enough

In that case, I have planned poorly or failed to execute my plan. When I got rechargeable HAs, I purchased the extra turbo charger. That charger stays in my computer bag. Unless I’m just running errands or such, my computer bag goes where I go. If the charger is not in use, it is in the bag.

This could happen, but would be a fairly serious situation. Evacuating an airliner, hotel fire, car crash, etc. Times where you cannot grab your stuff. In such cases, 1. I have bigger problems than charging my HAs and 2. I can find an audiologist who will sell me a charger. If push comes to shove and I have to order one, I have a spare (my original charger) at home.

I get it, different strokes for different folks. I’m glad you found what works for you.

Amen to that. My current AuD is a HA wearer. He is retiring and just brought in a new AuD that has been profoundly impaired since birth. She is also great to work with. My first 2 AuDs at different clinics were not hearing impaired and provided less value.

Could well be true. My first 2 sets were disposable battery units. My current set is rechargeable. My AuD gave me the option on this latest set and I went for the rechargeables. I suspect not all clinics operate this way.

This is the best place to learn. :grinning:

That is great. Unfortunately my hearing aid specialist did not have that information back then and Hear USA was not giving permission to get the Phonak; something else was happening. I have been working with the closest audiologist in my area, out of 2, who has been willing to try any look into hearing aids other than Signia. This process has been going on for over a year. Luckily I had my trusty 6 year old Oticons to carry me through.
I was not impressed with the first pair of Widex. I could not hear peoples voices clearly , Bluetooth sucked and I was constantly getting low battery warnings, even with fresh batteries after 2 days. 5 or 6 days of low battery warnings was quite pointless and annoying. The audiologist could turn off the low battery warning, but I do like to have the 1 day or few hours notice. I hope this second pair of Widex will be a good match for me. I’m crossing my fingers and praying the first pair was a lemon.

I have a Phonak Lumity with replaceable 312 batteries. Phonak finally relented and now provides the newest technology with replaceable batteries! They only last 3-4 days because I stay up late and stream a lot. Check it out!!

I’m grateful they sell them now.
I have Phonak Audeo Paradise P90R’s with rechargeable batteries. I wasn’t given a choice. They showed up.
I would have selected the Paradise interchangeable battery hearing aid if I was given a choice.

I’d have bought Lumity aids last year but for the lack of a battery option.

If you want to learn more about the 312-battery Phonak Lumity Life aid, I can confirm: I JUST BOUGHT A PAIR last Friday. Already, 5 days later I’m never going back to rechargeables! I’ll just stick with dinosaurs from now on if need be. I can’t believe how simple, liberating and clutter-free my life is without those clunky (NON-waterproof!) rechargeables.

I had a full day of appointments from 9am to 5pm, so I proactively changed the battery this morning (after 4 days use, streaming 3 hrs per night, 15-hr days of wearing). So I still don’t know how many days use I’ll typically get, but soon enough I’ll know! Sure gonna be better than 17 hrs MAX use per day with the rechargeables.

Plus, the 312s are TINY. My rechargeables with EarGear sox on them (worn to hair stylist today) are SO BULKY they fly off my ears every time a comb or finger is run through my hair.

These 312s now come in 3 zany colors in addition to the dozen staid BMW ones (which were my only choice for the rechargeables). I got Precious PINK, and they make me swoon with joy every time I see them!

Sell your rechargeables on eBay aid and go buy the 312.

I SO wanted the speech comprehension improvement AND waterproof claims of Lumity Life when I bought mine 2 yrs ago that I grit my teeth and succumbed to rechargeable.

Now I’m older and wiser and will never fall for the “waterproof” claim again. I’ve been biding my time waiting for a battery version of the Lumity Life.

Had my hearing tested a couple weeks ago, and my word recognition score improved from 73% 2 yrs ago to 85% now. I chalk that up to the Lumity Life “teaching” my brain to understand words better.

Wait a second, I thought you were going with Oticon Intend???

The new colours are lovely. I’ve done all three now on various patients. I love them all. Did a set of pinks last week, and prior to that a mixed pink and green set which was fun.

This is great news. With my Marvel 312’s I got around 4 days max, so you likely changed them at the right time. You’ll no longer need to carry 2 sets of HAs, and chargers.

Until there’s a rechargeable option with total longevity, I’ll avoid them.

NOPE! Trial ended in a BUST after just 3 days. Three SOLID days of no stable connectivity to BT on my phone. Dang phone never streamed and aids were spontaneously and continuously DISCONNECTED from BT. I wanted to smash that phone with a ballpeen hammer, but realized the prob is likely the LE Audio pairing with Oticon. That’s a story that could fill a book.

YOU SAID IT! No more redundant clutter.

I didn’t get to conduct the full battery life test this week, but I think you’re right: probably at the halfway of Day 5, the batteries would die. So being proactive, I’ll just swap in new batteries the morning of the 5th. We shall see!

Incredible! Excellent! So happy for you!

Let me guess, you are somenone who also could be without a hearing aid? Because if you really need it you wouldn’t say that, especially when you are in a serious situation.
Your child had an accident, you are in the hospital and you cannot understand what the doctor said? Inconceivably!

This is also something funny, you want to buy a Ferrari, but it didn’t connect to your low budged phone so you bought a Ford, come on!

I’ve had one Widex.
Then 3 sets of Phonak.

My take…it’s the audi that’s important. The brand doesn’t matter so much. My audi got me new hearing aids early and that was a miracle. But I ended up with strange wax guards (that I hate) and rechargeable batteries (that don’t have enough capacity every single day.) I was grateful for the new hearing aids because they solved a safety problem.

I’ve had setup issues for about 2-1/2 years. I blamed the hearing aids until I learned different. I apologize to Phonak for that. I’d love to be in a Phonak focus group so they can make better choices than the strange waxguards Need a senior for your group Phonak? I’m here! Ready to help.

Hardly… … …

I’d by the green ones in a heartbeat - as my backup pair - but ONLY if I could sell the two pairs of rechargeables.

I’m claiming that VERY sentence and saying it here, too!

Maybe we could both SELL our rechargeable aids on eBay and then YOU could buy the 312s. I already bought my pair and LOVE THEM.
