Danalogic Ambro smart

Hello everyone, I recently received a pair of Danalogic Ambro hearing aids [last year] and I am asking people here with experience here about this brand. These aids compared with my older one seem to go through batteries every 6 to 7 days. My previous aids would last 2 weeks on batteries. There also seem to me to be a few complaints about them and their software systems from what I hear from other users. Point to note, I am in Ireland. So I am just asking about the wearer’s experience here.
Thanks in advance.

Could you clarify a couple of things? 1)Are they the same sized batteries? 2) What model were your old hearing aids? Did they have bluetooth?
My suspicion is that the new ones bluetooth is draining the battery more quickly, although a smaller battery would also explain it.

Hi and thanks for your reply, the hearing aid is a standard Danalogic [supplied by my health board] battery no 675 and has no Bluetooth. My old aids were also battery no 675 Phonak models. Those new ones do seem to have their issues as I have heard some comments from other users to the same end. I have to say I liked the Phonak aids better.

@Ford_Puma

Your title says Ambio Smart which do have Bluetooth.

Which ones do you have?

Ambio - No Bluetooth.
Ambio Smart - LE Bluetooth.

I made a mistake there as the info pack/book I received was for the smart hearing aids even though I received the standard, non-smart ones. There is a lack of printed booklets available and that is why I received the wrong information book. a lot of confusion there and even my hearing aid provider seems to be at a loss about things. Ambros and danalogic are not well known where I am and that leads to problems.

I find that concerning since those models are made exclusively for NHS.

I think I’m out of guesses. Maybe they have some new feature that drains the battery more? Perhaps more active noise reduction? I really don’t know.

Perhaps worse audiogram requires more amplification and sound processing I am not sure if your audiologist can ask their manufacturer support if this battery life is expected. Otherwise there could be a defect.

What were you old Phonak hearing aids?

As you have been given hearing aids with no Bluetooth, unless the Phonak ones are broken and super old, why don’t you stick with them if you feel they are better?

Do you mean Danalogic Ambio? If so then I am doing fine with them, speech clarity could be better but that is probably due to me getting through life without wearing hearing aids for 20 years! I have the Ambio 77, not smart. I am apparently due a hearing aid upgrade next week so fingers crossed I get the updated version of Danalogic. Battery life lasts about 6 days on mine. I think it literally depends on your hearing loss and whether you use your aids for streaming to TV/phone etc?

The patient portal has instructions for pairing ambio to the app ?
Lots of other basic videos on there as well.

Thanks to everyone for your input, it does look like the battery life is typical enough for these models.
