I’ve got profound hearing loss with severe tinnitus on one side, and pretty normal hearing on the other side.
I’m considering CROS or Bi-CROS hearing aids but would like to know the following…
Is it possible for the transmitter HA on the bad side to do double duty and also have tinnitus masking on at the same time?
Like have a program that I can click to give some relief in JUST the bad ear, while the HA still feeds my good ear information it needs?
I assume I’m not the first person to request this function? I currently have regular Phonak Audeo Paradise btw.
@Turnitup I have a Bi-Cros with tinnitus masking on my right ear they told me at the time that it it not possible to get tinnitus masking on the Cros aid due to the fact it only sends sounds you hear to the other ear
Are you considering CI evaluation? That is not an obligation for surgery and could provide much useful information about your hearing.
Perhaps you can have a hearing aid in the bad ear to manage tinnitus, but a CI is definitely a powerful and efficient way to get rid of it, with additionally better speech understanding gained.
