Costco to get Jabra Enhance Pro 20

I purchased the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 from my local Costco back in the Spring of this year (2024). I’m generally happy, but I can’t figure out how to prevent it from ending a call when I get a phone call connected. The issue is, the hearing aids a frequently too loud for the phone call, so I go to hit the ‘down volume’ button (left hearing aid’s button) and it just disconnects the call. I don’t really want the hearing aid to control my calls, I just want to be able to count on changing the volume up or down when I need to… Anyone have any ideas?

I use the volume control on the side of the phone to adjust call volume. I found this out after doing the same thing you did.

My problem with that is that it only adjusts the call volume. I need the actual hearing aid volume to go down - because it is picking up outside noise that I don’t want. (This is especially prevalent when I’m driving. I need the hearing aids to hear less road noise when I get into a call.) NOTE: they still ‘hang up’ even if I’m not listening to the call over the hearing aids - like when I’m using the car’s Bluetooth for the call…

Have you tried using the Jabra app? BTW, my EP10s do not have BT LE Audio, and touching the buttons to change HA loudness ends the call.

Yes. I just returned mine a few weeks ago. Mulitple issues with receivers and mics in a 4.5 month period. Jabra offered a full replacement when the mic went out, but after multiple receiver replacements prior, and comparing to my Resound One’s (ssme as original JabraPro), i decided to return them and try the other brands. Turns out i didnt like the Reach or 9050 so waiting for next gen Jabra’s to see if reliability has improved.

I’m now on my 6th new pair since Jan. Too late to return mine so I persist. Jabra was supposed to investigate why they fail but to date, after a month, still in the queue. Now when a mic starts going out I insist that Costco get a new pair before I go in to replace. At least that reduces the frustration and bother a bit.

In that case I would use the app. There you can adjust and even turn off the ambient noise.

Thank you for bringing this up. I am going to use it too. My partner often complains about hearing my background noises, like from my grandson :grinning:.

I hope this helps.

I suspect that everyone is telling me that I’m out of luck.

I really just want to disable the ‘hang up call’ function from the hearing aid button - so I can use it to adjust volume. Obviously, if I’m driving my car, firing up the app (on my phone) and adjusting things there is not cool - and illegal in most places nowadays (can’t play with your phone while driving). If I could just hit the button on the left hearing aid to lower the volume, I’d be fine.

There are zero use-cases where I actually want the ‘hang up call’ from my hearing aid. So, that’s what I really want to be able to do - disable that ‘feature’. If there were a feature in the app to just turn that off, that would be ideal.

In the software for programming Philips aids, there is an option to turn off the phone call tap functions completely, or for just one ear. And there are two volume settings for the phone. One is called Phone and one is called Mic/phone. I don’t know for sure, but that may be adjusting the mic volume during calls. Maybe you can ask your audi if that is possible for Jabra.

Also, the philips app lets you adjust the phone and microphone volume independently. But I guess you would wind up fiddling with your phone at the start and end of each call.

They allowed me to return mine like 8 months in because they agreed with me that it doen’t make sense how I was going back and forth every 2 or 3 weeks with some mic issue. This has to be related to the following moisture in the HA body/mic cover that @ KnittedShade mentioned in the post below:
