Costco Returns Policy

Works for me too, all one card.

Update to my return issue.
I contacted Costco Corporate and told them the story. Next thing I got a call from the Hearing Dept Mgr at my store. The one who didn’t like me from the get go must really hate me now. She is all phony sweet and says there was a misunderstanding and they can just return the aids to the Bernafon and get the ones with out the t-coil. I will be without aids for the time it takes to send them in and get them back. This was not a misunderstanding she made it real clear to my fitter who specifically asked her what they could do. Anyway there is still no answer about how many returns you get before you are black balled.

My Citi card is also my membership card. Even has my pic on it.

I hope your picture is better than mine.

Glad it got resolved and I’m glad there is another fitter to choose from. And it sound like she’s a good one.

If you just have them charge your credit card, you can keep the old ones until then. If you are lucky, it will even fall between billing cycles. I did that successfully when I switched. Just make the order at the start of the next billing cycle to be sure.

Ken, my fitter is very good. She previously worked at an ENT/Audiologist practice but tired of the need to SELL, SELL. She is not that kind of personalty. Mid thirties, single mom who loves her kids.
My Costco picture is about as good as I could expect given what they had to work with.

Thanks!
“given what they had to work with” made me laugh out loud.

@jtl
I’ve had that comment from Costco fitters in the past. It must be a horrid way to work.

I have had my Resound Forte 8s for about 4 months. I have had them adjusted several times and aren’t the happiest with them. I have trouble when streaming music, have trouble outdoors, and in some crowded restaurants. I told my fitter that I want to order the new KS8s and try them. I think they will be better.

She told me all of the reasons I’m dissatisfied won’t be any better, with the KS8s. I told her there is now a thousand dollars difference. She told me that’s a small price to pay.

Is she BSing me? Are the Resound Forte 8s really better than the new KS8 (Rexton) She pushed back hard so I’m curious what some of you in the know think???

It would be much easier to read if you put your audiogram numbers in the site here rather than this poor image.
If you’re still inside the return period for the Forte’s then it’s your money. Not hers.
I would also tend more towards making sure speech in as many environments as possible is settled before bettering music. But that’s just me. As someone here said once upon a time (MDB?) it’s the speech that brought you here.
Although under this thread title…maybe you’ve already returned 6 sets in a short period of time.

I’ve talked about it a lot, but have never done a return. I’ve tried entering my results but have issues. Thanks

I was just relating to the topic
There are two ways to enter your numbers. 1. placing points on the chart 2. typing in numbers.

A direct quote the KS8 (Rexton8) is for people that want volume. Lacking in other areas I have issues background noise, streaming etc.

Are Rexton 8s /KS8s really lacking?? I want to save the thousand but if she’s correct I’m giving up quality.

I’m confused.

You were very nice to the sales rep but at your own expense. Seems like the goal should be to get you the hearing aids that help you the most and sound the best to you.

@KenP I use my Costco Citbank Visa as my membership card all the time, but I also pay with it. I don’t even know where my original Costco card is.

@jtl I’m glad you talked to Corporate. I spoke to a HIS at one of my Costcos the other day, and asked him about that return policy, since I have returned one hearing aid that did not work for me. He told me there is no policy about x number of returns, then you are banned. Of course they don’t want people using a hearing aid for 5 1/2 months, then returning it for another repeatedly, but it would go against Costco general policy for them to penalize hearing aid buyers. In my case they would be losing thousands of dollars per year if they decided to ban me, and trust me, the word would be EVERYWHERE.

I think the KS8s are decent aids. One thing to consider is that your hearing aid fitter may be a lot more comfortable fitting the Resounds and that could easily be worth $1000. Only you can decide. There is no objective criteria (other than that the KS8s are less expensive) to guide you.

There is some underlying policy because a member on here was blacklisted after returning 3 HA’s as I recall. He eventually was able to purchase another pair after pleading his case to corporate. I fully understand the rationale but I think Costco should just be up front about it.

I chatted with the hearing aid specialist at my local Costco about an experience I had years ago returning a hearing aid. I bought the aid in Texas and moved, then returned it in Ohio. They. through a fit, literally tried to make me go to another Costco. That was in 2009 or 2010. When I relayed the story to the specialist a few days ago, he told me that they have return metrics they are measured against. This is going to disincentivize some people from wanting to accept any returns and really would upset them over multiple returns. A more member centric measurement would be whether they were able to fit a member with any hearing instrument that they kept past the 6 month trial period. That would be focused on the hearing outcome and not on the bottom line, which is really what this should be about.

I just called COSTCO national service number… they said: “you can return them if you’re not satisfied and get another pair and return those if it does not work”… She had not heard of the “you can never come back policy”. I get it. In theory, you could keep trying devices for years. That’s their gamble. I wear Costco HA and tried a set of ReSound… 4 months I returned them… they were seeming annoyed when I asked for another appointment but I was adamant and have one set up in two weeks… I will update after I get my new hearing aids and after I question the provider about the “no more soup (hearing aids) policy” if its real or urban legend.

If you return them a couple of times you WILL hear that they do not want your business.
