Costco Kirkland Signature 9.0 (Product Information)

Something you might try is set a manual program to one of your programs that is in the AutoSense. That way when you are in a particular environment you can up the aids in the manual program to verify what program you are in. Stops the guessing.

Thanks. Yeah, that’s what I’m doing.

ThomF, thanks for your response.
I’m aware of the TV Connectors’s manual on-off options but chose the “Auto” option (for a reason). I should have stated clearly that my question aimed at those who have selected the “Auto” option as well. I just want to know if their TV Connector automatically switches on only when their HAs are in the Automatic Program. Here’s my initial question:
My TV Connector is setup with “Auto” on-off. It comes on automatically when the TV is on and my KS9s are in the Automatic Program; but not when they are in a Manual program. Is this normal?

I believe that is likely true. When you place your aids into one of the manual selections, I believe they will stay in that setting until you change them. If they are in the automatic mode, however, they should be free to self-select the TV connector.

I don’t have that setup myself, so I can’t verify, but it does seem likely.

Does anyone know if the KS9’s will eventually be getting some version of the Phonak 2.0 update? Even the addition of multipoint Bluetooth would be nice.

I wont be holding my breath. One thing that might get there is remote settings? Driven by the current virus situation.
Of coarse I hope I am wrong.

You connected Roger pen to ks9??? What receiver was used?

No, the pen was not connected to the KS9 aids. That sure would be nice though.

I used the pen with Venture and Belong aids with a Compilot2/Roger X and Roger receivers on Audeo B90 aids. Was able to experiment very reasonably buying off Ebay.

At the time I was really trying to figure out my hearing loss trying different powered aids. Learned I was deaf in the mid/upper frequencies.

With my hearing problem ispeech in noise is the problem. So i definitely need a mic. If we still have not found a way to connect Roger somehow to ks9 then i can’t get them. I did see ks9 could have telecoil option…

So if i get tcoil option i can hook up a MyLink with Roger receiver and pen??? Or maybe another way???

The KS9 aids come with or without telecoils. Both are size 312 batteries.
They are not compatible with Roger.
I do not know what possibilities you would have with the telecoil.
Maybe another member could help with that.

A telecoil picks up signals from a personal neckloop (or ear hooks) or from a room loop. What goes into either loop is what gets broadcast out it that then the telecoil picks up. Remember it’s always inherently mono. The ear hooks can kinda fake stereo.

I know ks9 does not have roger direct. But there are receivers that can connect via battery door to almost any hearing aid. On the website it does not say anything about kirkland brand compatibility. There is also a mylink via tcoil and i know there are ks9 with tcoil.

so my questions are Is there any other way like say a compilot with a roger receiver? Hass anyone succesfuly used roger devices with ks9 hearing aids? How?

I think the only way that might work would be with a Roger MyLink. You’d need to make sure you got the telecoil version of the KS9. You’d also be on your own as you wouldn’t get any help from Costco.

Is hooking tcoil to mylink hard. I am planning on buying a a noahlink as im buying in another province.

My question is how would sound be transmitted to the T Coil? A transmitter is needed.

I don’t claim any great understanding of this. My take is that the Roger Pen or Select transmits to the RogerMyLink and it transmits to the tcoil in the hearing aid. @focusandearnit has used RogerMyLink with Roger. Perhaps he could comment.

@nikita I don’t know what control you’d have over how the tcoil operates using a RogerMyLink with the KS9. @focusandearnit , can you comment if using the RogerMyLink with KS9 would allow adjusting hearing aid microphone levels when RogerMyLink is used.

Nikita: There are also more generic type neckloops that can receive bluetooth or direct cable connection. Then they output to the loop and the telecoils pick up that. Maybe there’s a mic that can output bluetooth to one of those neckloops and then up to the aids.

Thanks for your help with this.
I have thought about the KS9 aids and how to connect from a remote mic standpoint. Just haven’t figured it out. The Phonak M aids can do it but didn’t think the KS9 aids would.
Maybe some form of Bluetooth?

The KS9s can’t do it like the Marvels can because they don’t have receivers, but I think all the RogerMyLink needs is a telecoil device in the hearing aid.
