Costco Kirkland Signature 9.0 (Product Information)

I agree. These so called “limitations” for me would not be limitations at all, and in the case of replaceable batteries, an advantage.

I wonder how many BT devices can be paired with KS9?

I currently have KS8 that I can connect to SmartMic and I can pair multiple devices with SmartMic. While I can only connect and listen to a single device via SmartMic, it makes it easy for me to switch from phone, tablet, laptops and etc without having to re-pair process.

Ideally I would like to see some sort of multipoint connection capability with the hearing aid (directly or via intermediary device).

From the record-long thread about the Phonak Marvels…that was a considerable downside for many. iirc only one at a time. But maybe I’m not remembering the details.

Oh. So KS9 does not support Marvels “Roger Direct” connectivity to their Roger Table mic, BUT they will connect to something similar via BT I can get from Amazon? SmartMic looks like a lapel mic, has anyone with KS tried connecting a table mic like the Marvel system offers?

Hey I’m just another punter around here. I’m no expert. I don’t have KS9’s. I don’t have Phonak Marvels. I don’t do tree fruit products so I’m quite enthusiastic about the Marvels and these KS9’s.
According to the OP, the available accessory is the TV Connector. Other than that the whole marketing point of these things is that they use standard bluetooth to connect to standard bluetooth devices.

OK, I’ll bite. I don’t get the tree fruit product reference. :>) Excellent point about the standard bluetooth compatibility–makes my concerns about them not making a remote microphone rather inconsequential.

I purchased a pair of k9s this morning. My k6s will go to goodwill after a while
Pros ican hear the TV fine with out the sender. Good price and fitting

Cons. Battery compartment door is hard. To open. Resound Quattro was 1000 more. Will update with more use

Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for sharing.
These KS9 aids are a hot item now.

I believe that z10 was speaking of Apple products in the above reference.

Hldy, I am not entirely clear with your question. Are you asking whether the KS9s can receive BT from multiple BT transmitters simultaneously or consecutively?
I assume it can switch from one transmitter to another, but not whether it can receive and combine BT signals from multiple devices, and I’m not even sure that that would be advantageous for us hearing impaired.

The aids can only link to one Bluetooth transmitter at a time. To change devices you must turn the aids off, then restart. Actually mine are working on neither android or iPad. The app recognizes the ha,s and they show up under connected but devices but no streaming…something for my appointment on 7/29. I don’t know if any maker has a self help line.

When they say standard BT, does that mean we will be dealing with the latency of standard bluetooth - a failure of synchronization between the visual image and the speech? That could be a problem, especially with watching movies. Or do the KS9s support low-latent transmission BT like aptX?

I have an aptX transmitter and receiver for things like lip syncing and locomotive or siren syncing while watching TV, and I am wondering whether the KS9s would receive it.

I doubt it. I had a quick search and I don’t see aptx related to the Marvels (or these KS9’s). Maybe I didn’t search hard enough.

In which case if I get the KS9s I should avoid lip-reading while listening?
And not try to follow the direction of police cars and train locomotives across the TV screen because of the delay?

I don’t know about that. Maybe there is a workaround. I had hoped that all BT sources included all versions of BT.

I dunno. You decide what you value.
All I’m saying with my quick comments are that these can connect to most standard bluetooth devices.

I am hoping/wishing this is out-of-date. Especially since BT is easily converted now to FM and multiple FM sources can be combined, right?

My oldish car has no audio-in jack and no bluetooth, yet I have a little miniature Echo-licensed device that allows me to use hands-free Alexa in my car by receiving bluetooth from the Android phone in my pocket and re-transmits it as FM to a blank spot on my car radio. “Alexa, drop into my living room. Hi Honey, need anything at the store?” Or “Alexa, play today’s Morning Edition from NPR from the beginning.”

In the photo, what are those silver/grey things standing on the black pedestals? They don’t look like domes.

thats the transducer
yeh i got the android streaming to work.I was trying to use their app like the k6 apple app, doesnt work that way. app is for phone adjustment, direct connection from phone to ha’s. shows on phone as one ha, but plays fine in stereo. good volume, where k6’s for me needed a 9 on output. pleased so far.

jlaubin, good information from someone who actually owns KS9!

Can you find out (or confirm) whether you can pair the hearing aids to multiple devices (meaning hearing aid can store multiple pairing information) or whether you have to go through pairing process every-time when you want to change the connected device? Thanks in advance.

Testing Marvels, using the TV BT transmitter, I detect no lag. Indeed, there’s even a balance control on the app to blend room and direct signal. I don’t know how they are doing that with BLE, but it’s working just fine.
