I would encourage checking out the Hearing Aid Self-Fitting and Adjusting [DIY] section of the forum. Self programming is not to be taken lightly. It’s called DIY for a reason.
What MDB said. There is a strong learning curve. And you’ll have to invest in a NoahLink Wireless which will set you back $175-$275 depending upon where you find it. You can find the software to download by posting in the DIY section, but you can find the PDF of how it works here:
DIY ADVICE:
If you don’t know what you are doing, don’t do it without finding out whether it’s the right thing to do.
Watch carefully what the fitter at Costco does with the software. Ask a lot of questions. It’s best to be familiar with the interface.
First time you run the software…
A. You need to create a client for yourself
B. Start a new session for that client
C. Connect your aids and when it asks if you want to import the data from the aids, choose YES
D. Without doing anything else, save and close that session. THIS will be your failsafe if you get in trouble later. This is what you will go back to.
When you’ve come up with a setting you like, schedule a Costco visit and have the fitter read your hearing aids and save that as a session there. Let him/her know what you’ve done (ie: gotten a NoahLink Wireless and the software) so he knows he’s saving settings that weren’t done there. Indeed - if you change your settings before any next visit, make sure he/she’s reads your KS9s to start the session of working with them.
Again, don’t adjust anything unless you have a REALLY good idea of what you are adjusting. And MAKE THAT FAILSAFE BACKUP THE FIRST TIME.
I think that’s about it. Good luck!
Very sound advice!
Not an adventure to be undertaken lightly!

Does anyone know the price of a pair of KS9’s in the UK?
On their website it says they are £1, 119.99 a pair.
Thank you. I couldn’t find the website for some reason. Now I just need to find some way of becoming a member.
I just walked in the front door and signed up.
I assume that wasn’t in the UK
Costco offers Individual Membership to current or retired employees of select employment groups or professions.
Membership is available to individuals over the age of 18 years who meet one of the following requirements:
Qualified as:
Holy Moly! I had no idea! Sorry, I didn’t mean to be trite.
No problem at all. I wouldn’t expect people in The US to understand Costco’s weird membership rules in the UK.
Missing a decimal point. 1199 pounds
Hi, I’ve been off this site for a while and tried searching but couldn’t find anything.
Are the KS9’s available in Canada yet? If not, anyone have an idea when they’ll be available?
And are the KS9’s better than the KS8’s? I’d assume so.
Thanks
Rob
Hi @iRobert. KS9’s have been in Canada for a little over a month now.
Thanks, do you know how much they are?
$C 1,999 for pair of KS9.
This includes unlimited visits and fittings
I am pretty new to this forum so forgive me for not knowing my way around. This thread is now up to 940 posts. That is a lot for a new person to read threw to find an answer. I think that is why we are seeing questions asked that have been answered before.
Is there someone (moderator or such?) who could summarize it in the first post for those new to this thread? Or maybe some other way to make it easier?
Thanks
Good point. Here is a summary:
Announcement of KS9. This very first post has links to a WORLD of information. Should be pinned.
Differences between Marvel M90s and KS9s (KS9: no Roger, No Tinnitus, No rechargeable option. No telecoil option. No remote adjustment option).
Similarities: vibrato effect on pure tones when FEEDBACK MANAGER (KS9)/WHISTLE STOP (Marvels) is enabled at any level and that, for music, it cannot be enabled at all (and it’s best to shut off all the other bells and whistles and by MUSIC, I mean what is heard environmentally through the aids’ mics rather than streaming sound). The rest of the similarities are good things.
Talking about manual programs and who’s doing what
Talking about Bluetooth and whether it works with various phones
Talking about the TV connector, how it works, and what a great deal it is at $99 in the USA vs $249 for the same exact box from Phonak.
Talking about where/when they will be available in other countries
Talking about DIY stuff
That is about it!
