Costco Kirkland Signature 6.0

Yes, that app works with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, but does not (as yet, anyway) work with the Apple Watch.

I picked up my KS6’s today. I’d scheduled a hearing test a week ago, hoping that they’d have them in and in stock, and they did. I was the first one fitted with them at the Costco in Fairfax, VA. While I haven’t yet encountered any situations to notice any change in sound quality, I have tried the iPhone streaming and made a couple of calls. So far. so good.

And as I’d seen somewhere else, the KS6 is not compatible with the original TV Streamer. I’ll have to wait until it comes in and I get it hooked up to see if there are any improvements there.

The KS6 are amazing. I can hear the TV better, hear conversations better, hear people better hey I even hear “got a long list of ex lovers” instead of “all the lonely Starbucks lovers”.

After a day plus with the KS6, I am noticing two improvements over the KS5 - speech on the TV is better, and the wind noise management is better. I am getting some minor feedback at times when listening to the radio in the car in the “All Around” Program 1, but overall the sound quality does seem better than even the KS5s.

Today I discovered that the ReSound Relief app (plays various relaxation sounds to mask tinnitus, in the Apple App Store) works with the KS6’s.

Phonak has an Android app dedicated to Tinnitus masking as well. I have the Tinnitus masking software built into my HA’s so haven’t used the app yet. I would guess there’s a comparable Apple version as well.

Returned my KS5 while still in the 90 day free trial and ordered the KS6. The Costco tech whom I am very friendly with cautioned that I may need the remote clip + as he has experienced issues with the iPhone app. Has any KS6 users found that to be true?

I don’t work at Costco but the only issues I’ve had with the iPhone app/baked in software with any of the Linx aids was with Verizon iPhones.

Nope, works flawlessly for me. I have an iPhone 6 and picked up my KS6 on the 16th. Downloaded and installed the app when I was there and paired them up. Controls the volume just fine and changes programs quickly. I can listed to music, sound on videos in Twitter and Instagram with no issues. I don’t plan on purchasing any of the accessories.

Went to Costco today to pick up my Phone Clip+ for my KS5’s and saw they had the stuff out for the KS6. (I just picked up the KS5s two weeks ago). I now have an appointment on 5/5 to order KS6s and on 5/13 to get the KS6s fitted and return the KS5s. This should let the charge for the KS6 net with the credit for the KS5s on my May Amex bill.

Interestingly enough, the fitter seemed a bit annoyed that I was going to do this, despite the fact that I told her when I ordered the KS5s I would want to swap them if the 6 came out during my 90-day period (and she was all for it at that point). I have really enjoyed the two weeks I’ve had the 5’s - so much better than the Oticon Dual Mini M5s I had been wearing the last two years. Speech is clearer and I’m definitely doing better with the TV. Pretty excited to try the 6.

I got 4 days on my first set of batteries. I was hoping for a lot more. I was streaming and playing with the remote a lot though. Other than that I am very happy with them.

Well the KS6 are working really well for me but today the right battery died. That is 5 days but I didn’t stream much (though I did use the app a lot). What I noticed was the battery indicator in the app does nothing as far as I can tell, anyone else seen this?

The battery indicator is just a rough estimate. It only shows 3 levels–full strength, half strength, and almost empty. Half strength is displayed when the hearing aid detects at least one wireless exit (streaming dropped out due to low voltage), implying the battery is not as good as new. Almost empty is displayed when the hearing aid activates the low battery warning.

The Linx² has a 62 version that utilizes the 13 battery. The old Linx (original), which is what the KS6 looks like it’s based off of, is 312.

I’ve had the KS6’s now for nearly two weeks. The first set of batteries lasted 4 days, but I was streaming and using the app constantly, same with my second set. On my third set now, but I have closed the app on the iphone and turned off the bluetooth, just to see if I get more mileage out of the batteries. All in all, I am very happy with the KS6’s. Yes, the battery indicators on the app works for me, shows when they are half gone and then low. These are my first hearing aids, so good to hear people clearly again.

Well, today I trialed the K6’s, Rexton Quintra’s and the Phonak Brio’s at Costco. All three were nice, but in the store I noticed a certain amount of white noise on the K6’s that I didn’t hear with the other two. There is a lot of white noise in the store, but the Quintra’s and Brio’s did a better job of filtering it out. I also heard my own voice with the K6’s and there was a raspiness. The Brio’s and Quintras’s where very close in performance, but I ordered the Quintra’s. The HIS’sat my Costco are very helpful.

This is my first post after reading for 100 hrs+ (or so it seems). I will be picking up my first HA’s on May 2nd. Since the Kirkland Signature 6.0 was recommended, I went in search of specs on this model, and can not find anything. It is generally accepted that the KS6.0 is based on the ReSound LiNX, possibly the LiNX 9. It was difficult to find info on the LiNX 9 on the ReSound website, as most of the links are for the new LiNX2 based HA’s. I finally found a data sheet on the original LiNX 9 that listed the following (some of these may be specific for dispensers or Audiologists, and I apologize in advance for listing non-relevant info). Has anyone found any specific information on what is and what is not included in the KS6.0 (Model KS661-DRW)?

Thanks for the info. I will be picking up my KS6’s today. I too have been trying to find the specs on the KS6’s as well and have been coming up short. According to the AuD at the Costco that I’m buying my HA from the KS6 is equivalent to the Resound Linx 9.

Got my KS6s Monday.
i would be happy with 4 days with the batteries as this is what I was getting with the Resound Forza/Verite, and a lot of audio streaming. I’ll report back Friday.
the battery status on iPhone app has not moved yet; from the previous posts it seems to show only when it reaches half.

First impressions:

  • improved understanding. Looks very promising (for somebody with severe loss) with additional adjustments.
  • stays in ear, fits very well all day.
  • audio streaming from iPhone fades and switches from ear to ear. More noticeable indoors! Need to resolve.

How were battery level during the two different results, Baywood?
