Costco Kirkland Signature 10.0 (Product Information)

Yes, it looks like I was talking about iPhone Live Listen feature. It can let you use your phone as a microphone, however it’s nowhere near as good as Roger. And to add: Noting this is a KS10 thread, I don’t know that the Live Listen feature will work on a KS10 as it is not made for iPhone. (It will work with iPhone, but it will not have the Made for iPhone features and I don’t know if Live Listen is one of those or not.

I asked about bluetooth connection today when I ordered my HA’s and the Audio at Costco tells me it will work but it also cuts out the TV sound for everybody else.

Did this happen with your TV?

Yes, the TV sound does cut out if I connect the hearing aids with bluetooth. If I watch with someone else, I have to disconnect the hearing aids on the TV and use the TV sound. If you use the TV connector, you can get sound on both if you use the optical connection. However, the timing of each sound source is usually not exactly the same, so you probably will hear echoed sound. You may be able to adjust the sound delay on the TV to match the TV connector. If you use the TV connector, you will have to adjust the volume with the hearing aids. With bluetooth, you use the TV to adjust the volume. A much cheaper option than the TV connector is an optical to bluetooth adapter. I don’t know if this would work as well as the TV connector or not. No perfect solutions.

Something to else to consider, a BT connection uses battery faster than the TV connector or a Roger.

The Version 2 TV connector has a volume control.

Thanks for the info. Seems the TV connector is the way to go but I am told not to expect one within the next six months.
I am interested in the bluetooth adapter - Can anybody suggest a model that works? I see Jaycar sell something that should do the trick but it would be nice if somebody had some experience with them

I’ve been using this:

1Mii B03 Long Range Bluetooth Transmitter

It works fine with my KS10’s. I connect it using a Toslink cable (included) which on my Samsung TV has constant level audio output regardless of the TV volume or mute, and it doesn’t cut out the speakers. The range is excellent, it covers most of the house. My TV has adjustable audio output delay, which essentially eliminates lip-sync lag, but there is still some dual-path echo if you listen through both the TV speakers and HAs.

Just an update on this. It is my understanding that the MyPhonak app and whatever the KS10 specific app is called are identical in features. MyPhonak will work in KS9 though, but not in KS10

I have had 3 sets of Phonaks. I’ve found my new HA’s shape to be so much better. They’re easier to handle, and easier to insert and take off my ear. And I’ve had almost no problems wearing masks and wearing hearing aids, combined with my HA’s. My last hearing aids were Phonak B70’s and they were awful.
the carry-case for the Paradise hearing aids is huge in comparison. And I need to pack a cable if I’m going to recharge them.

I got the battery for my phonak charge case. Still new and experimenting with it. 5 charges in so far since last charge and it is going strong. We had a wind storm and I charged it up in advance, so I started over last week. I believe that there are USB Battery that will work and not shut off while you’re trying to charge, although many shut off when the load becomes small. Maybe Chuck @cvkemp had the info on that?

Thanks Swordy. It does not seem to be available on the Australian Amazon site. I think this is close though.

I have the smart charger for my More1 aids it is good for about 4 days if I the aids are fully charged to start with. Also with the latest More1 firmware 1.1.1 losing power will not cause the aids to power up.

Once you use Rechargeable you will never go back to Batteries,I love them especially the Lith-Ion built in battery (the HA has NO Battery Door) and last a good 5-6 years.Your Kirkland KS9’s are Phonak Marvel HA that came out in 2018 and now should have the new Marvel 2.0 Software,it comes with Telecoil. The Cost of a Pair of Phonak Audeo M Marvel Advanced I just saw online for $1739.00 for the Advanced M70 which is one notch below premium, dont know what Costco charges.Good Luck!

I just finished a typical 877-…-… phone call, answering requests for information, using the keypad, talking to a representative, etc. With my KS-10 aids “Connected for calls and audio” via Bluetooth to my Samsung phone I had no trouble at all.
Without these aids responding to this call would have simply been impossible.

Possibly in a larger, bulkier casing?

I think they need more mic’sto be really good.

If you need hearing aids now, get them now. There will always be a potential better model/ better deal in the future. I’m unaware of Costco dropping prices on hearing aid models. What I’ve seen is having them come out with a new model at a lower price. If that happens within your return period, I don’t think you can just get the difference refunded. I think you’d need to return the hearing aid, get full refund and purchase new model, but am unsure.

That is what I did when the KS9 came out. Returned the KS8 after five months without a problem. Then got the KS9.

Hoping the KS11 will have a replaceable battery. Might think about replacing the KS9 then.

I’m going to guess that the KS series will stick with rechargeables. I won’t hazard a guess at who might make the KS11, but I’m pretty sure they’ll just offer the rechargeable battery. Disposable batteries should remain available in most of their other brands.

At least for the Phonak line (and for the KS10.0T, its “white label” counterpart), some features, such as tap control and motion sense are available only with the rechargeable-battery version because the regular disposable batteries don’t have enough “oomph”: only 1.4V vs. 3.xV.
