Costco JabraPro

I have been back several times to Costco since I purchased the JabraPro. I keep getting a buzzing sound when I am in close surroundings such as in a car on in a closet etc. Adjustments have not fixed the problem

Is the buzzing sound feedback? Sometimes when I first put on my Jabra hearing aids, my right one will make the squeezing sound if I get close to a wall or cup my ear with my hand. After fiddling with the dome in my ear the squealing goes away. I have an appointment with my hearing aid specialist on Wednesday to see if she can suggest something to eliminate that issue and another issue that has cropped up recently.

That sounds similar to squealing issues i had before going to custom ear molds with my current and previous Resounds. Although it can still occur at times if something is too close to the aid.

I’m not going to get custom ear molds. My question is, why only the right hearing aid?

Just my guess, but possibly a less than perfect fit or the mold gets slightly pulled out due to a short receiver wire.

I think you are correct. Because I’m left handed I have less dexterity in my right hand. Therefore, I may be having difficulty getting the dome seated in the correct place in my ear canal. After a while the dome begins to back out of my ear canal and may not be sealing the dome from the microphone.

I don’t think so. The only way the buzzing sound goes away is when I turn on the noise filter but by doing that it lessens the quality.
Thanks for your input. I want to contact Jabra to see if there are other options. I only see an 800 number and will try it but was hoping I could talk online with a tech support but do not see that option.
This will be the first and last time I purchase a Jabra brand. Prior to this pair I had Bernaton but Costco no longer sells or supports them.

I had feedback with my hearing aids untill I went to closed domes with my M&RIE Jabras, which is recommended for this. Anyhow, open domes are prone to feedback depending on your audiogram. Also too small of domes are prone to feedback as well. I was given the next size down by mistake once. They worked till I got into the car and closed the door. Squill! Replacing them solved that issue.

It can be frustrating when you are in-between sizes as well. My partner wears different size domes from right to left ears. This stopped her feedback.

Good luck resolving your hearing aid issues!

  1. Costco will give you sports locks that help keep the receiver where you put it.

  2. No Bernafon at Costco, but the Philips 9050 may be more to your liking than the Jabras, since Philips is made by the same company that makes Bernafon.

It’s definitely sounds like a feedback issue, this nothing to with the HAs, but as mentioned the fit in your ear canal seems to be the culprit, but this is easily checked with your Costco fitter, trying different sized and types of domes to see, as you don’t post your audogram it’s hard to say, but even possible to be “floor noise” if you have good low end hearing.

Thank you for the helpful information. I am going to share it with my Costco specialist

The buzzing/feedback is only in the left ear. The Costco specialist tried replacing some pieces but had no impact. Is it possible it’s a flaw with the HA itself

Sure, it’s completely possible to be a faulty HA, but most likely something else at play.

I was having feedback, which could be the buzzing you are hearing, but mine was in the right ear. She gave me a sports guard to help hold the right one in place in my ear canal. I will let you know if this worked.
