Compilot setup - Target Software

Hello all, I wonder if someone can help. I seem to be having a problem setting up my ComPilot in the Target Fitting software.

First of all, out of the box, it pairs with the hearing instruments and streams audio via the wireless mic, the TV Link and a paired phone - to be expected.

But I am trying to set it up to also Remote Control the hearing aids. To do this, I connect it to my PC USB Port and run the Phonak Target Software. The computer recognises that a USB device has been plugged in and the Target software sees it as a ComPilot (It even pick up its serial number). But when I want to ā€œIdentifyā€ or change any options on the Compilot, Target says that the device is not found and ensure it is connected to the USB port. I’ve tried popping it in to different ports - but no joy.

I’m using Windows 10 (32bit)
Windows Device Manager just sees it as a WAP USB Serial Communication (COM3)

Have you any suggestions?

Rob

Many usb<>serial devices don’t have all the control features that better ones have. You need the right product. Look on Amazon and read reviews of the top volume ones.

I do not believe that this is a USB<>Serial issue, as the ComPilot II connects directly through a USB connection.

The fact that the S/N is automatically loaded indicates that the Target program is reading the ComPilot II.

Here is how I set the options for the ComPilot II in the Target program.

  1. Open the latest session that showed the CP II as an accessory.
  2. At the top of the window is an icon that looks like a CP II. Click on that icon.
  3. All associated devices will be displayed
  4. to the right of the CP entry click on Device Options

You should now be able to select the ā€œenable streaming and remote controlā€ option.

Out of curiosity, are you able to change any of the other DP II options like ā€œvoice alertsā€, ā€œcaller IDā€, etc. ??

The hearing aids are devices also. Have they been read or setup. They will have S/N’s also and the way the programs are configured is transferred to the CP. The CP will also get labels for the SmartPhone app.

Hi folks. I managed to fix it. I noticed there was an update available for Target. After the update, all registers and works fine.

Thank you

Rob

Good News!
Target update take some time to download because of their size, but worth it.
I’m at Version 4.3.1

Yes, that’s where I am now. A slight improvement on the graphical user interface. Not sure what else has changed.

I need to download the sound files ā€˜package’ but, as you pointed out, it’s a big download (around a Gig).

Cheers.

Hello Rob, are you able to privately message me please as it would be good to know on how you manage to sort this in the end. Thanks.

As this is a very old thread, you could ask your questions in a new post, you may get more hits.
