Changing Earmolds and Tubes "Update"

Continuing the discussion from Changing Earmolds and Tubes:

Hello,

I kept trying to “unplug” the tube. My hands were sweating and shaking. And all the bad words were brought into my mind then.

The good news is that after three hours of trying, I made it on my own.
However, the bad news is that I didn’t put the tube in the right direction and now the hearing aid keeps hanging over my ear.

Maybe this sounds like a stupid question but how can I know the right direction where I should put the tube?
Is it okay if I buy some tubes and keep them as backup for months? Or they might get hard over time?

Upwards is the right direction. I assume you’ve got tubing that has a bend in it?

Looks like Zebras is right. If you do not feel is right then change it, it is just part of a learning curve.

The tubes I buy always have bend and in one end a tip, which lets me know that is the part going into the mold

I faced the same problem while pulling out the harden tube at the Audi office. Finally, the Audi used a sharp blade to make a small cut and pull it out. Just be careful not to cut the hook. Used a blunt blade or fingernail to scrap the tube out of the ear hook. So now i change the tube every 3 months. When moisture come in contact with PVC tube, it starts to harden. I try to clean the tube hole with tissue every night. Blow some air into it.

Yes, it had a bend but no tip. I didn’t know that but I’m learning! :))
