Can't simulate Real in Genie 2 2023.2

Hi,

Currenly I have Genie 2 2023.2 which is up-to-date according to Oticon Genie Updater. Yet I can’t simulate the Real’s:

What am I doing wrong?

You don’t see the Real in the Selection page like in the screenshot below? I’m not sure where you got the screenshot for the More as displayed in your post above, but the actual Genie 2 2023.2 screenshot for the More should have looked like the second screenshot below.

Follow the instructions below:

Once you have Genie 2 installed successfully on your PC and opened, you can click on New Client and start filling out the 3 required field First, Last name, and data of birth (as seen in the screenshot below). Then click on the Audiogram page below the Select Client option on the upper left corner, then fill it out with the data in your audiogram, as seen in the second screenshot below. Then click on the Welcome button on the top row next to the Client button, then click on Simulate, as seen in the third screenshot below. When you get the NoahLink Wireless, instead of clicking on Simulate, you would have the NoahLink Wireless connected to your PC first, then click on Connect in this page and follow the steps once the NoahLink Wireless detects your hearing aids.

After you click Simulate, there’ll be a window popping up saying “Communication Error” because it doesn’t detect the connection to any devices yet, just click on No Connection at the bottom right to proceed to the Selection page in the fourth screenshot below. Go through the Select Instruments, Personalization, and Acoustic and select the appropriate settings to your case. After you’re done, then go to the Fittings page (from the top row of buttons), and start exploring the menus and options in that page. Once you’re done, go the the End Fittings to explore that page and make your setting selections next. Once all done, click Save and Exit at the upper right corner of the window, and it’ll save your session before exiting.

For more detailed help on what all the options are, pull down on the Help menu on the very top, then select Help on Genie 2. It’ll take you to the Oticon online Help page and you can start exploring all the detailed explanations on there.

I’ve tried reinstalling with another installer. Same result:

No possibility to stimulate the Real Oticon lol.

Hm, that’s weird. If you look at the screenshot below from my version of Genie 2, There’s Real, Play PX, Own, Zircon, that can be readily seen there BUT NOT on YOUR screen. So your version of Genie 2 2023.2 is missing a lot of than just the Real. Play PX, Own, and Zircon are not on your version as well.

I also notice that you select a non-English language. Is that German or something? I’m wondering if Genie 2 is selectively excluding certain Oticon models because it makes the determination somewhere that maybe you’re in a locale that don’t sell those models perhaps? Therefore they exclude them out from the software menu?

What if you chose the English version?

Interesting! I’ve changed the language to English via preferences (it’s Dutch btw, we do sell the Oticon Real). I do have the Zircon by the way, but not the Own and Play PX indeed.

I will reinstall and choose US market. I’m also going try to install this on another laptop.

For anyone reading this on a later moment: the solution is stating that you’re installing for the US market.

Which is strange because Real 1 is sold here as well.

New to this also but try selecting style 1st (minRITE R instead of None) Possibly the Reals are only available for certain styles. Just a guess
