BTE vs RIC for severe loss plus Phonak Naida BTE vs Costco RIC options

Hi, I am presently in 2017 Rexton Legato BTE size 13 battery from Costco. Cookie bite loss. Severe.

I want new hearing aids and thinking of Phonak Naida Lumity SP BTE (if I can afford it) from audiologist. I look forward to phone calls and music in the hearing aids but hope old school Bluetooth will be around a while.

Hearing in noise has been a problem with Rexton. Is 2023 Phonak going to be better in noise than 2017 Rexton/Signia?

Costco is still an option again but I get wax really easy and used to maintenance free(mostly) BTE hearing aids. Can RIC work for me with my loss and wax? An audiologist recommended BTE for me.

I prefer replaceable batteries. Daily I have hearing aids in 18 hours(without streaming) but want to add and use Bluetooth streaming for work. Can’t work and charge during the day.

That leaves affordable Rexton at Costco again for rechargeable for longevity but again RIC?

Any thoughts?

The Naida Infinio lineup should be released soon, but I don’t know for sure when.

You can always try the Infinio R (non-Sphere) and then Infinio Sphere with UP receivers.

It’s a bit taking a small risk, because UP receivers are fitted only with cShells, for which you have to pay, but it is worth considering.

Regarding wax, newest Phonak SDS 6.0 UP receivers are with HE3 waxguard, which is much larger than Cerustop.

Phonak Infinio HA has great battery life. With my Sphere, if I am not constantly in noise over 70-72 dB, I can use it even for 30-40 hours continuously.
