Bluetooth quit working on Samsung Galaxy S24

I have a Samsung Galaxy s24 and the Oticon Intent 2. Streaming and Bluetooth work well until this morning when I got an update. With the January security update I can on longer
stream or take phone calls without using the ConnectClip. Just wondering if it happened to anyone else? Forgot to mention I’m in Canada.

Have you unpaired your aids. Rebooted the phone. Then tried pairing your aids again. I have Samsung S23 phone and it hasn’t had an update this month.

Yes that was the first thing I did.

Then I know not to update my Samsung S23 phone. For safety I disabled automatic updates on my phone. I cannot afford to lose my connectivity tmof my aids and phone.

Samsung S23 updates will be happening more than likely later this week or next week. Like i said I cannot afford to loss my connectivity

I thought Starkey had suggested this for their users. Maybe it will help for Oticon.

  1. Remove the app from your phone.
  2. Disconnect from Bluetooth.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Connect to Bluetooth.
  5. Reinstall the app.

With Android and I know Samsung you don’t need to uninstall the app just go into settings and apps then find the companion app and go into storage and delete data. That is the same as uninstalling the app

I don’t see how it ever worked for you, unless your phone was purchased in the States. Canadian Samsung phones don’t have the LE Audio CODEC. I think that only one or two Samsung phones here support it, and they are the folding screen models. Both Oticon Canada and Starkey Canada confirmed with me, that about the only choice was the Google Pixel 7a, 8 or 9.

It maybe that it is a fact that my phone be in the USA that I have all of the le audio updates. But I my phone definitely works great with my Oticon INTENT1 aids. And my settings for my aids in connection Bluetooth is set to le audio all the time. And full hands free works great.

I got it working again. I went into connected settings and turn off LE Audio. When I shut off the connectclip everything works good.

If your posting was from 1/11, I’m feeling your pain. I have Philips 9050 (the Intents first cousin) and Galaxy s24 plus. I tried everything - pairing, unpairing, uninstalling the app and reinstalling, clearing the cache, turning the phone on and off, shutting down bluetooth – all of those things multiple times in all different sequences. Even posted about the problem on Reddit (no answer, btw). And then about 12 hours later all was mysteriously forgiven and hearing aids/phone came back home to papa. About a day later it happened again but only for a couple of hours. Since then all works as it is supposed to - hearing, tap control and total connectivity works.

Your list is almost complete, but I mis here the most important one and that is forgetting the HA’s in your HA app and forgetting the HA’s in your BT settings of your phone. After that reconnect the BT by pairing again.
Most of the time that solves the problem you are writing about in first instance.

Interfering from other BT devices plays a big role too, so don’t forget to put BT off in other devices in the neighborhood as well. (Eventually also WiFi and magnetrons etc can interfere and disturb in the frequencies also).

Turn off LE Audio. (Why must a post be at least 20 characters?)

Wow! That would be a game changer for me! I have Jabra from Costco with a Samsung S24 and no change in streaming from phone, which I do constantly. I did try the Connect Clip when I had the Philips 9040 and it was not useful for me. My main problem is that Samsung phones still do not allow HA to pick up user’s speech in streamed phone calls, so you have to speak into the phone even though you hear your caller thru the HA. It’s referred to as “hands free” calling, although that’s an over-used, ambiguous term.

I keep reading this about the Samsung phones not doing full hands free but i have the Samsung S23 phone and the Oticon INTENT1 aids and I have full hands free calls. And use them. I have actually answered calls with my phone in a different room on the charger. I haven’t heard any complaints about the person on the other end not hearing or understanding me.

??? I have a Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, recently upgraded from a Galaxy A5 (2017), and both have always worked just fine for hands-free calling with my Phonak Audeo P90-Rs and the Phonak app. Almost makes it worth being hearing-impaired

Phonak is a different animal from the rest of the hearing aid industry.

I have been unable to hands-free call with my previous Philips 9040 and Samsung S22 and S24. Same now with the Jabra. Samsung told me it had to do with a security upgrade that they are dragging their feet on. Can’t explain CVKemp’s success, but I’m happy for you and maybe some day they will spread the wealth…

This is not thrue!
It’s called bidirectional and if your HA’s can, your Samsung will for sure.
My Marvel’s Paradise and Infinio’s all connect bidirectional to all my Samsung phones.

This means I can let my phone in another room. Accept the call on my HA’s and hear and talk to the person I’m connected to by phone.

You’ll have to manage your settings appropriately.
