any update on the fix issues like the state getting stuck at ‘Voice Starting,’ ‘Audio Starting,’ or ‘Audio Stopping’?
Thank you for your feedback. This is a known issue that has already been fixed and will be included in an upcoming release, along with other improvements related to “Audio starting/stopping” issue.
This issue occurs because the dongle stops broadcasting when the USB audio source is released. Some browsers and apps, like Firefox, immediately close the audio stream when playback is paused or stopped, which causes problems with the current firmware. In contrast, Chrome keeps the audio channel open for about 20–30 seconds, avoiding this issue.
@Ranson, I just want to say, You Rock!
I have no previous experience with a vendor so responsive and interested in the customer experience. Thank you so much!
I do not have one yet but have been actively paying attention to the threads you are on or your product is mentioned on. I do not have it yet, and I will be getting one for my PC coming up. I have the S23U, the Jabra EP 20 HAs and a 3 year old Windows 11 PC.
It is exciting to see this new technology developing and your product being in the fore front of it. Folks on this site have been dreaming about something like this for at least as long as I joined with my just released Jabras. Thank you again!
I’m seeing the issue in MS Teams. I tried configuring Teams to use the FMA 120 as the Speaker and another device as the microphone with hopes it treated differently. Switching between devices in MS Teams causes the ‘Audio Stopping’ and does not allow reconnect. Either MS Teams acts much like Chrome or something different happening.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! We’ve also found that directly communicating with customers is one of the most effective ways to improve our product. Fortunately, we have a product that’s easy to update, which helps us keep up with fast-evolving technology.
We’ll make sure to check this before releasing the next version.
That’s not surprising since MS Teams uses the same engine for the app as Chrome.
I agree with @RSW :
@Ranson, your support and responsiveness is exemplary! I hope it translates into great sales numbers for your products!
Just wanted to share some findings:
With the dongle (firmware 1.1.1.7) and Starkey Edge AI 24 (firmware 10.1.0), we haven’t run into the usual “one connection only” limitation. In our testing, both the dongle and an iPhone (running My Starkey App) can stay connected to the hearing aids at the same time.
When a call comes in, the PC audio pauses and the call is automatically routed to the hearing aids.
The only issue is that after the call ends, you’ll need to manually “Disconnect” and then “Connect” the hearing aids again in FlooCast to resume streaming from the dongle.
Overall, this seems like a good example of how the HAs can manage multiple connections smoothly.
Question about dongle firmware AS2.0.0 (Initial release for A2DP-to-Auracast relay)? I tested this with an LG WebOS TV. The dongle can connect to the TV as if a bluetooth speaker even though it is not on the list of supported devices. How do I connect to the Aurcast relay with hearing aids - is it possible without an Auracast assistant? I tested with Philips 9050. Or am I not understanding the use case for the relay firmware?
I did some testing with a laptop and while LE Audio State says Broadcast streaming, the 9050 do not seem to connect. I tried using both High Quality and Broadcast.
Also as a suggestion, is it possible to add some description text under where it lists the firmware version in FlooCast? That way one can more clearly see whether the standard or a special firmware is being used.
My understanding (from reading on this this thread ) is that the 9050 is capable of Auracast but needs a firmware update to activate it.
I am a bit disappointed as I had thought when I bought the 9050 it had Auracast already and was just waiting for an Auracast broadcast to try it out.
Thank you very much for the suggestion — we’ll include that in the next version of FlooCast.
@Ranson, Is there a way to minimize the FlooCast program in Windows 11 to the taskbar? When I minimize the app it no longer shows in the taskbar, but instead is only in the system tray. To retrieve it again I right click on the icon in the system tray and click “Show Window”. Sometimes this works to show the program, but sometimes it shows in the taskbar only (like it is minimized) but when I click on it on the icon in the taskbar the icon disappears from the taskbar and the program is still not shown. I will then right click again on the icon in the system tray and “Show Window”, and will then show the program.
Not a huge deal more a minor annoyance.
Thanks!
Can you right click and create a shortcut in main screen. Then pull it down to the task bar.
Try using the “Minimize to System Tray” button instead of the regular Windows minimize—it’ll make sure the window shows up properly when you hit “Show Window”. We’ll take a closer look at this when we release the next update.
The app should work normally and respect the standard Windows options in the upper right corner where Minimize means send to Taskbar, not system tray. There is already a “Minimize to System Tray” button within the app for those who want that. It might help to enable left click on the system tray icon to open up the app fully (some apps have that function) in addition to fixing Minimize to function in the standard manner.
If they were trying to implement that left clicking on the icon in the Taskbar would sent to the system tray, then perhaps an option is needed so that can either Minimize or send to system tray. Users expect that to Minimize and should have to toggle an option for the secondary function to become the default.
That is a good idea, Unfortunately I don’t see a right click option and haven’t figured out a way to add a shortcut.
Thanks – that works well as a workaround. Appreciate taking a look at it for your next update as well.
Is this just a regular desktop shortcut or something else?
Found some possible bugs in firmware 1.1.1 which might be specific to the Philips 9050 or something I did. The software shows the same name for the paired device even if you have changed the name. For example, pair Bob’s hearing aids. Then change the name of the user in HearSuite and FlooCast will still see them as Bob’s hearing aids instead of Susan’s hearing aids.
If you delete the hearing aid, then I am so far unable to add it back. Clicking add device goes to Pairing, but it does not populate the hearing aid under Most Recently Used Devices or pair. Perhaps the history is stuck somewhere and not fully deleted so it can’t be added back.
Reinstalling the firmware again does not seem to help. Is there a way to fully reset things or is this a hearing aid issue where I need to delete the pairing in HearSuite to free it back up for FlooCast?
