Bluetooth dongle with Auracast support - FlooGoo FMA120

ah… didn’t try that, just tried to right click and there wasn’t an option. I can try to manually make a shortcut next.

The dongle only stores the device name during the initial pairing—it doesn’t read or update the name during subsequent audio connections.

To initiate a new pairing, please turn off the hearing aid and click the Clear All button while the dongle is in a stable state—Idle, Connected, or Streaming. (Avoid doing this while it’s in a transitional state like Connecting, Starting, or Stopping.) You can also unplug and replug the dongle to ensure the pairing list is fully cleared before starting a new connection.

If that still doesn’t work, it might be due to the 9050’s firmware. This kind of issue is common in Bluetooth—when one device resets or clears its pairing info, but the other still holds onto outdated keys. Ideally, the device should detect that the peer has “missing keys” and automatically clear its own stored data to allow a fresh pairing.

When we test firmware for the FMA120 using ReSound Nexia 9, we’re constantly flashing new test versions—so the dongle is always in a “fresh” or “missing key” state. Despite that, it consistently pairs without issues. We don’t have to do anything special with the hearing aids—just take them out of the charger, wait about 10 seconds, and the pairing completes. The same applies to LE Audio earbuds from Samsung, Sony, and Qualcomm.

I noticed there’s a firmware version 1.2.1 available for the 9050—could you confirm if that’s the version you’re using?

We’ve just released firmware version 1.1.1.9 — please give it a try and see if it resolves the “audio stopping” issue with Teams. This update also includes improvements related to the “Starting/Stopping” issue reported by @northbear and other users. It also includes improvements to reconnection stability.

Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend, if you celebrate!

Thank for the update! I won’t be able to test it out until next week, but look forward to doing so.

These 9050s have firmware 1.2.1. The Clear All button is greyed out. Perhaps that button should say Clear All to Pair New Device? I interpreted it as I can disconnect or delete one of many listed recent devices and that Clear All is only if I want to delete the entire list?

Updated FMA120 to firmware 1.1.1.9 to test and the 9050 still would not pair. Then I removed some pairing in HearSuite to be sure there were less than four saved pairings. FMA120 still will not pair. I also uninstalled and reinstalled FlooCast, tried a different computer, and tried a new Broadcast Name. Maybe the FMA120 is broken somehow, potentially from a firmware update? I don’t have a second Auracast capable device on hand to confirm whether the problem is pairing with these aids or all devices.

Please install the free Windows app “Serial Debug Assistant” and follow the steps shown in the screenshot below to perform a full reset.

Make sure to close the FlooCast app before proceeding. Don’t worry—nothing you do here will brick the dongle, so feel free to follow the steps confidently.

Followed the reset. Reinstalled 1.1.1.9. Reset again. Still no change. Dongle LED blinks four times.

Please send us an email, as this may require reloading the firmware based on the serial number.

We’ve just released a new main firmware version 1.1.2.

It now shows the sample rate alongside the codec type, so users can easily check the audio quality their LE Audio devices—including hearing aids—are receiving. This information is also available when using Broadcast/Auracast mode.

To take advantage of this feature, please update to the new FlooCast app v1.1.4—coming soon to the Microsoft Store. Mac users can download it directly from our support page. Linux users can always run the latest version from the source code available on GitHub.

Here are a few examples:

Play at 24kHz to a Starkey Edge AI 24.

Online chat: speaker and mic both at 16 kHz.

Auracast broadcast at 24 kHz.

For comparison: Samsung Buds 2 Pro in gaming mode — 48 kHz playback / 16 kHz microphone.

I am wondering if this, and the other, configuration will not work with aptx enabled?

It’s just a coincidence that many aptX Lossless earbuds and headphones (such as the Sennheiser MTW4) still use classic Bluetooth A2DP. For users with these devices, the “Prefer using LE Audio” option should be turned off. However, for users with newer LE Audio hearing aids, it should be on.

The “aptX Lossless” switch in the Settings menu is specifically for users with aptX Lossless devices. Since this codec operates at a very high bitrate (around 1.2 Mbps), some users have requested an easy way to switch back to a lower bitrate (e.g., aptX Adaptive) to conserve battery life. Toggling this switch will disconnect the current connection and establish a new one using the selected codec.

This setting has no effect on LE Audio hearing aids. While it might be used to trigger a reconnection, the connection parameters for LE Audio remain unchanged. So whether the switch is on or off, it makes no difference for those users.

It looks like the Microsoft Store hasn’t rolled out the 1.1.4 update yet. It’s still being processed and should become available within a day or two.

I have my FMA120 installed and recognized as an audio device on COM10. Firmware is 1.1.2. My Rexton Reach HA with latest firmware (going to verify today) is paired. I’m no hearing audio with volume at max and not sure how to proceed from this point. Any and all suggestions welcome. I’m close and this will be a game changer versus having to use headphones with my two Windows 11 laptops.

If your hearing aids appear in FlooCast’s device list, please check whether the “Dongle State” is shown as “Connected” or “Streaming” (the latter should appear once audio playback begins).

If not, it’s possible that your hearing aids are still connected to your phone. Try temporarily turning off Bluetooth on your phone, then unplug and replug the dongle to initiate a fresh connection. Rebooting your hearing aids may also help.

In most cases, the FMA120 is automatically set as the default audio output device on Windows. You can confirm this by checking the speaker icon in the system tray.

I can verify that the FlooGoo FMA120 will pair and connect to the Signia Active Pro IX hearing aids using LE Audio. However, I had to forget the Bluetooth connection between my hearing aids and iPhone 15 to successfully pair and connect the aids to the FMA120.

Once I was paired and connected, I performed a test call using Microsoft Teams and verified both incoming and outgoing audio sounded great.

I made sure to update all devices to the latest firmware.

@Ranson, working now. I had paired in the wrong mode. Only box to check was the Prefer using LE audio…" This is a game changer especially when using my portable laptop.
