Widex's amplifier quality

Hey
Does Widex products have a bad reputation in amplifier’s quality in usage for some years ?
I had been used Widex dream before for only 1.5 year after i got problem in its amplifier then i had to exchange it with Widex Evoke 13D. After 4 years of usage i got the same problem in amplifier and they advised me to exchange it with newer one…

Is that normal or abnormal ?
Am i doing something wrong or the problem in Widex’s amplifiers itself ?

I have had Widex hearing aids for ten years and the only models I will wear our the Widex 330 moment or the 440 moments

All hearing aids will usually require servicing at some point. Not sure if you mean the receiver, but repairs can usually be carried out for around 7-8 years of a hearing aids life in my experience with Widex. If you are being told by the dispenser that you need a new hearing aid that’s a different issue as they would be looking to move you on to newer technology/sell a new product or get back in warranty period. I have never worried about being out of warranty as the cost to repair is usually around £150 and then that part has a warranty.

No, its not RIC, its BTE.

I felt that it’s kind of business deal, they reported me that the problem is “Deterioration in the internal wires of the hearing aid” and it can be fixed but this problem could be come back again due to the low efficiency of the amplifier, so it’s better for me to exchange it with newer one…

Warranty is out since 3 years.

Very specific, and something like an environmental issue may be going on. I can’t find an IP rating for Dream but Evoke should be IP68. The lifespans 1.5 and 4 years could be a match for their IP ratings.

Dream was my old one before i purchased my Evokes…

I started to use my Evokes since Jan 2020 till now.

So it that normal to stay like this period then stopped working due to amplifiers problems “low efficiency and deterioration in the internal wires of the hearing aid like they said in last report” or it can stay longer than 5 years without any problems ? I mean am i right in suspecting of the low quality of Widex amplifiers generally?
