Widex moment 440 music setting

Hi everyone! English is not my language and I use a translator. I have Widex moment 440 hearing aids with cast mold. At home I use the music setting for music and movies. With the music setting, I sometimes get feedback, and I would like to ask if activating the feedback block in the music program helps with the problem? Is the feedback blocking on/off or is it adjustable? Does the activation affect the sound quality?

@tenkan might know the answer.

I personally don’t listen to music.

Actually I think this works like any music program, feedback management is off, but if needed you can use it, and yes you can get a reduction in certain frequencies plus if set too hard/high quality goes out the door on music, so it’s absolutely necessary to have a correctly fitted mold with the smaller vent (even occlusive fitting for severe profound losses) post your audogram as it would be helpful.

Tight fitting molds is critical.

By default, the Music program has a high frequency boost feature activated. This will make the hearing aids more susceptible to feedback. It also defaults to a “Supergain Music” feedback manager that is either on or off. You can adjust the strength of feedback suppression in Compass GPS, but it is applied to all programs.
Whether feedback suppression being turned on results in a reduction in sound quality is very subjective. However, once you are coupled to the ear with a sufficiently occluding earpiece, you do not need to rely on feedback managers as much. Clinically, when we encounter feedback, we will look at earpiece fit and venting first before trying to mess with gain settings or other programming.
