Widex allure and iphone

Hi!
I recently just got the Widex allure hearing aids
I’ve always used air pods pros and I’ve become sort of dependent on the hands free concept of multi tasking. Whenever I’m walking or cooking I used my AirPods and everything was fine.

Now with th hearing aids
While I can hear my friends and relatives ok
People on the other phone line tell me they hear me as if I’m in a well or they hear all the wind or I’m far away. When people talk to me on their car speaker when they’re driving-they now hear their voice echo

All these things were never an issue with the AirPods and it’s getting very frustrating to me and my friends.
The audiologist has been as helpful as she can but the Widex company doesn’t really have any answers other than it’s a diff kind of blue tooth.

I have an iPhone 14pro max
I’m willing to go android if anyone can suggest what I can do to fix this.

Thank you!!!

You can try several things:

  1. Change the microphone used to pick up your voice. Experiment between using the hearing aid microphone or the iPhone microphone. To verify which one you’re using, triple-click the power button on your phone, then select your hearing aids. Look under Mic Input. Off = iPhone mic; On = Hearing Aid mic.

  2. When on a call, open the control center by dragging down with your finger from the battery icon at top right. Click on Phone Controls at top and then scroll down to see your mic settings. Choose Voice Isolation.

Thank you!
I’m going to try that, but wouldn’t using the iPhone mic
Definitely not work
If my goal is to talk hand free and the hearing aid mic would be off? Would anyone hear me with my phone hanging in my crossbody case?

I recently trialed the Allure’s and was told that my voice sounded clear, without the barrel-sound, when I used an iPhone. I had the voice isolation feature enabled.

Where can I find the voice isolation :see_no_evil:

You have to be on a call to enable it. While on a call, go to the Home Screen and swipe down from the upper right corner to activate the special options. Select the phone options icon.

Another thing you can try is to switch to a more closed dome. This will reduce the ecco and may also solve some of the other issues. A easy test of this is just to stick your fingers in ears when your on a call using the Allures and hear if it solves the problem.

Thanks! Will try! I hear people fine
It’s the people I’m talking to who say they hear me moving around or running up and down if I happen to me. They hear the wind if I’m talking while walking. But going back to holding my phone near my ear everytime I take a phone call has been very stressful!

I was trying to say that you can try it out the next time the person you are talking to on the phone is complaining about ecco, or well like sound.
