I am keeping my batteries (size 13, gotten from various sources…no particular difference noted) at room temperature, in their packaging material, with their tab on. I know that you are supposed to wait 1-5 minutes (I have seen various times mentioned) after pulling the tab on a new battery to use it. Typically, I’m in a rush in the morning, so, I put my hearing aids in a Serene Renew dryer each evening, and when I anticipate that I will need new batteries during the next day, I throw away the old ones, and put two new ones, with the tab pulled off, on the magnetic holding area on top of the dryer (area does NOT get hot).
Will the batteries discharge a great deal if I am opening, not using them, overnight?
