Which receiver types are compatible with Resound Alera 461 DRW?

I have an old pair of Resound Alera 461 DRW hearing aids. The receivers are small (low or medium power) in comparison to the HP ones I use on my current hearing aids. I’d like to tune the Aleras up as a backup but I’m not sure which receiver type is compatible as I’ll need to upgrade the receivers on them to HPs (and re program). Anybody know if Aleras will work with Surefit 2s or Surefit3s or do they use some other standard? Any advice appreciated.

Are you going DIY on them? or are you getting a clinic to reprogram, if DIY you’ll also need the Noahlink wireless and of course the Aventa Software.

Thanks rasmus. Didn’t realise these HAs were so yesteryear as to be barely supported anymore. That’s about as expensive as it comes for receivers based on my looking around but I guess that’s the premium you pay when nearly nobody else stocks them. If I’m spending 170 I might be as well off to see if a more modern preowned set of HAs come up for sale that already have HPs.

Thanks tenkan. Yes, I have a diy requirement to try and help an aged in-law. This old pair of mine were to be a learning vehicle that could also act as a backup for myself. As said to rasmus, at 170 to upgrade to HPs I might be better off waiting for a more modern pair of HAs to appear on eBay that already have the HPs. Might be money better spent. But yep, am setup now with the software and Noahlink. Any good tutorial on programming using Aventa you can recommend? Also any tutorial here that explains the basic audiology concepts like compression for example, that I’m coming across.

Yeah that’s the thing to consider, how much is too much, I’ve seen linx2 and linx3D on eBay for less then $200.

Here’s the user guide for Aventa, it’s really helpful with some good tips.

For Compression, considered the best available.

Thanks tenkan. That pdf on compression is a real eye opener. Can’t pretend I get it all yet but definitely well put together. Thanks for passing this on.
