When to buy new hearing aids? Product Release Cycles?

Are new models of hearing aids generally released in a seasonal pattern such as fall or spring, similar to the way new iPhones are released every September?

I want to purchase new hearing aids to replace my Costco KS 10 hearing aids. This is not urgent so I can wait a few months if new and improved hearing aids are likely to be released in the next few months.

I searched the forum for this topic and the last conversation was about five years ago, and there wasn’t much in that, so I am still unsure.

Thanks for your advice.

No one knows when a new hearing will drop expect the manufacture and perhaps a Costco buyer.

The scuttlebutt is that a new Oticon model will drop in the 1 Qtr of 2026, a new Sennheiser by the end of the year. But, no one knows for certain.

I suggest you write down what improvements are important to you, such as hands free with Android, Auracast, hearing-in-noise, etc.

If you are not up-to-date with Auracast, then I would use that time until buying your new hearing aids to read up on it to see if it’s something you might benefit from having.

There is definitely no set cycle. In general hearing aid models get replaced every 18 months to 2 years. Those KS10s are still very good aids. (I’m still sporting KS9s)

Thanks for the tip about Auracast which is new to me. I have found some articles.

Take your time to read up on LE Audio and what you need in the way of a new phone to make it work for you. Read up on the latest hearing-in-noise technology and it’s pluses and minuses, including the type of battery.

So homework time.
