What does M P and SP mean?

Phonak hearing aids uses these letters. I think P stands for power but what does M mean?

I fit a lot of Phonak and I’m not even sure…Medium maybe??? Could be Micro…

Either way, the M HA’s almost always don’t have a volume control on them. The Micro HA’s don’t have any controls on them at all typically.

Power and Super Power and Ultra Power are P, SP, UP

I think its micro as M hearing aids are always the smallest out of the Phonak range.

Doc Audio,
Your mention of volume control triggered a question: I have Phonak Naida IX crt w/o volumn control. Can it be added?

I don’t think it can as there isn’t any room. I think the reason why there is no VC is because you have better water resistant of the HA without it.

Maybe it means Mojo power? Haha

If we are talking about recievers for RIC hearing aids… this could be an indication of power. M= Medium, P= Power, SP= Super Power.

For BTE hearing aids as the OP has Phonak Certena BTE aids.

No…sorry. Only the button on those. I think the VC allows an additional access point for moisture/water which would reduce their water-resistance rating. It’s my only beef with the Naida CRT - people with severe/profound HL’s usually want VC’s…
