Washed, Dried backup hearing aids!

Accidentally left my old Phonak Belong hearing aids in a pocket when washing clothes. They got a good wash and dry.

I verified they were completely dry, popped in two batteries, and they work fine!

Impressive
I wonder if a rechargeable hearing aid would fare the same.

I was very surprised they still work.

I wore my Lumity aids in the lazy river last summer, which is mostly just floating along, but, there is a section that drenches you with water. The Lumity never stopped. Maybe im just lucky.

If the reason that someone were to choose replaceable batteries is that they want them to survive a wash and dry cycle…have at it! My guess is that rechargeable aids would survive such treatment even better.
Me? I don’t wash and dry my aids with my laundry. That’s far down on the list of my reasons for choosing one or the other.

I think that is amazing. I’ve gone into the shower with my Oticons but was able to get out promptly. Never plan to launder them though.
