Great clarity with mobile calls via iPhone’s & HA’s bluetooth suggested the Signia Stretta StreamLine Mic would work - it doesn’t have noise cancelling so it is hopeless in social situations. It does connect with the HA’s though, which suggests that a good noise cancelling bluetooth mic should work. Has anyone found a solution? I’m thinking of trying a Hollyland Lark M1 - any experiences from Forum members gratefully received.
Just be aware that your Signia Stretta work on Low Energy Bluetooth and are MFi HAs so a Bluetooth mic is unlikely to connect.
Hi Zebras, thanks for your response, but I am still puzzled. Via ‘weak’ bluetooth the iPhone transmits phone calls, iPlayer, Netflix and etc.etc as well as the Streamline Mic’s sounds. Like many wireless microphones with effective noise cancelling software the Hollyland Lark M1 bluetooth microphone / transmitter transmits sounds to a receiver, which in turn connects plugs in to the iPhone. The iPhone should therefore, even if it’s bluetooth is ‘week’, transmit those sound to the HA’s, just like it does with phone calls and podcasts. The purpose of my enquiry is to discover if such microphones work in practice, or whether there is some other issue to understand … maybe the bluetooth version?
I could simply buy the Hollyland Lark M1, but my budget is tight* and I’d hoped someone out there can share some experience or knowledge with us.
(*not helped by waiting for a refund for that flippin’ Signia Streamline Mic.)
There’s a different between Classic Bluetooth which is what the Mic uses and LE Bluetooth which is what your Aids use.
Unfortunately they aren’t compatible.
If you want to connect the Mic only to the iPhone, then yes it will connect but unsure if the whole process would work anyway.
Maybe someone else can comment?
As long as you’re not expecting the Mic to connect to your actual Aids, you’re good to go.
