UP Hearing Aids ?new technology

Hi, I’ve been using Oticon Xceed UP BTEs for the last 6 months. I know they have more power than I need, but my audio turned the gain down so they fit well. I like the sound and I love the large battery, which lasts a long time. I’m not a fan of rechargeables.

My main concern is that the technology has not kept up to date. Oticon has announced lots of improvements on their other products, especially the rechargeables, but not on the UP. Does anyone know when Oticon is likely to improve the Xceed UP? As far as I can tell, it is the same story with Phonak Naida UPs that are also using relatively old technology. Are there any other brands with good power and large batteries?

This is a Google search for hearing aids that use 675 batteries.

Many major hearing aid manufacturers, such as Phonak, GN ReSound, Widex, Oticon, and Starkey, use size 675 batteries in some of their hearing aids, particularly power-style BTEs.

I’m getting on well with my ReSound Enzo 3D 798 which uses 675 batteries.

I have a rebranded version of ReSound but it equals to the ReSound Enzo 3D 798.

The market for UP hearing aids is shrinking due to the success of cochlear implants but the development costs remain the same. Competition in the space is shrinking and the time between new product releases is increasing as a result. I suspect that we’ll see new product releases for UP hearing aids once auracast is more widely available as this will be a key feature for users with severe to profound hearing loss.
