I am trying to decide what to do. I have had hearing loss in my left ear for several years. It is mainly stable, but I am having some trouble hearing my 5 year old daughter. She is very soft spoken. However, I also have a 2 year old son that likes to scream. Also having some trouble hearing in crowds like church.
Here is my latest test. It did have a slight decrease in the 8K range, but I am not sure if it is bad enough to warrent buying the hearing aids since my insurance does not cover them.

Hello and Welcome to the forum.
I hope you will find here what you are looking for.

I would suggest you go to the nearest Costco to get your hearing checked and have some hearing for trial, then you can take it from there.
If it is church that is a problem, then it could be your salvation.
But hearing your kids, that is the up most stimulant for you to get hearing aids.
Good luck

It seems you would benefit from HAs - and the suggestion of Costco is a good place to start. My youngest likes to scream a lot - and he now is an operatic tenor at age 27- so he was born loud. Use hearing protection when drying your hair, vacuuming, loud machines, etc. and be proactive. It will generally just get a bit worse, so getting a handle on it sooner than later doesn’t hurt. I started with them at about 47 but know I needed them sooner.

I do have an ENT that I have been working with, and they are currently recommending a hearing aid in the left ear.
I am wearing ear protection when doing loud things since this issue started 3 years ago.

Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of very useful information as you read through the threads.
I was born with congenital hearing loss. I had an awful lot of difficulty hearing my children when they were young also. I ended up teaching them to tap me on my arm so that I could look at them when they were talking to me. This helped tremendously as they were projecting their voice to me not too my back. When anyone talks to you from behind you, I found this extremely difficult too understand.
I’m another who would suggest you go to Costco and be retested again. They have a 180 day trial period with a full refund if the aids don’t satisfactorily suit your needs.
Good luck.
