Third parties LE Bluetooth transmitter dongle

I have Oticon More 1 HAs and an Android phone without ASHA support.
On Alieexpress I have seen USB-C LE Bluetooth transmitter dongle (Auracast, LC-3) for less than € 20.
My question: Does anyone know, if this works for streaming from mobiles to HAs that support LE Bluetooth?
Thanks in advance.

Like many people you may have Bluetooth LE confused with Bluetooth LE Audio. Your aids do not support LE Audio, so they are not going to take an Auracast broadcast or a LE Audio stream. That transmitter won’t work for you. Sorry.

Thank you, never to old to learn.
If I understand you well, the dongle won´t work because the HAs don´t support Bluetooth LE Audio
However… searching in Google with the following words: “Oticon More1, Auracast” gave the following AI overviews (for what it´s worth):

1st
The Oticon More 1 hearing aid, specifically the miniRITE R and miniBTE R models, is designed to provide a more balanced and natural sound experience by utilizing Deep Neural Network (DNN) technology to process a wider range of sounds.
While the Oticon More 1 doesn’t specifically mention “Auracast” in its name or marketing, it is equipped with Bluetooth LE Audio and is ready for future communication technologies like Auracast, meaning it can receive and process audio streams from Auracast-enabled devices like smartphones, tablets, and other devices once the Auracast technology is more widely available.

2nd
The Oticon More 1 hearing aid, along with other Oticon models like the Intent, is designed to be ready for future communication technologies, including Auracast (also known as Bluetooth LE Audio). This means the hearing aid can connect to and utilize Auracast broadcast audio, allowing users to stream high-quality audio from devices like smartphones, tablets, and PCs.

I´m thinking to give the small investment a try and I´ll keep you informed. How great would it be no longer being dependent on expensive accessories

Funny thing about the More. When first released there was a press release that stated that it was future-upgradeable to LE Audio. See My Oticon Real experience - #51 by prodigyplace and my following comment. I don’t know if anyone’s pointed out to Demant that the upgrade hasn’t happened and asked for their money back. That would be interesting.

Anyway, there’s zero chance that this transmitter will work for you. It’s a small amount but better off in your pocket.

Another example of AI being out to lunch. I don’t think it ever came back from coffee break.

I bought one of these {EDITED TO ADD: I mean the cheap AliExpress gadget} and it doesn’t work with hearing aids.
I was disappointed but not surprised. The manual is laughable as it is brief and assumed it will work. I reached out to the seller who said it hadn’t been tested on hearing aids.

What is worth the money is the FlooGoo pictured. It is an incredible piece of kit and reasonably easy to set up. Once you’ve got it to accept your hearing aids it can be ported from device to device.

EDITED TO CLARIFY I MEANT THE ALI EXPRESS ITEM IS TERRIBLE, also corrected some spelling mistakes. Apologies for confusion

@PhilCreighton

You did not share what hearing aid model you have tried to connect, and also did not mentioned the current firmware version of your hearing aids.

Please read this detailled review , see link

Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. As you may already know, we achieve compatibility largely thanks to the direct help and feedback from our users. We received a report last week from a Widex Allure user and have been actively investigating it. We provided a test firmware with logging enabled, and the user was kind enough to share a complete pairing log to support our efforts.

Thank you for reposting the link—it gave me a notification, and otherwise I might have missed it. Really appreciate you @PhilCreighton taking the time to share your experience with our product!

I am so sorry for the confusion - I meant the exact opposite of what has been assumed.

My post was in praise of the FlooGoo and critical of the cheap generic nonsense that the OP was asking about.

I am very evangelistic and passionate about the FlooGoo because it just works, is brilliant, has amazing sound quality and is an essential part of my kit bag.

I am so sorry I confused you @firenzel - I was praising the FlooGoo. I have edited my post to avoid other people thinking the same and I apologise to you.

Thanks for clearing that up, and I’m really sorry I didn’t read your original post more carefully.

I completely agree about the FlooGoo FMA120. I was able to get it to work with my Signia Active Pro IX hearing aids using Bluetooth LE Audio.
