Stenosis material makeup

Stenosis is the closing of the ear canal. What is the material makeup that causes the canal to close? Is it hard bone? Soft bone? Is it a putty-like material? Just curious.

The material makeup? Stenosis of the aural canal can be congenital in children. What the exact makeup with congenital defect I don’t know. It can be acquired later from the following issues. This could be caused by several things. A build up of cerumen, frequent ear infections, inflammation of the tissues in the aural canal. It can also be caused by trauma to the ear or tumors.

Congenital stenosis is often a developmental malformation of the bone. Aquired stenosis is usually fibrosis–some inflammatory response resulting in tissue thickening/scarring. So it depends on what type you’re talking about.
