Starkey Edge AI 24 for the win!

After months of trying several brands and changing audiologists twice, I finally ended where I began in this process—with the Starkey’s. The first audi fitted me with these back in March. This person, while being nice, was not able to fit them correctly, even after multiple adjustments.

I found a new provider who suggested the new Phonak Infinio Spheres. We tried for over a month and even though they are supposed to be the best, I had no speech clarity nor could I hear in noise. It didn’t matter if Sphere mode was engaged or not.

From there, we decided to try the Resound Vivia 9s. I absolutely loved the hearing for the most part, with a little frustration in the Intelligent Focus mode. However, I could have coped with them but the BT streaming and phone calls were absolutely horrendous, to the point of being painful.

At this point, I was ready to keep my Signia IX 7s. I wanted to try the Starkey’s one more time, though, with this new audiologist programming them. She nailed it!!! I cannot only hear well, even in noise and in a variety of settings, but the speech clarity is amazing. Additionally, the BT is like a concert in my ears.

I chose the Ric RT in black, rather than the mRic because of the rocker switch and telecoil. We have one minor adjustment due to a bit of an echo but I’m so glad she didn’t give up on me and I was persistent. I can hear and stream and have a pair of HA’s I absolutely love.

That’s excellent!! Congratulations on finding a hearing aid make and model that works for you, and a knowledgeable audiologist with the skills and patience to pursue the ideal fitting. We should all be so lucky - and persistent!
