I have the Oticon Real1 hearing aids. After my latest audiologist reprogrammed them I now get feedback from my right ear only when I hear certain high frequencies. Example: When driving my electric golf cart, the high pitched motor windup will cause them to squeal, mainly on the right side. I have custom molds made with 85dB receivers. I have the Noahlink 2 coming soon and requested the Genie SW. I would like to know what to try changing once I get this all setup to get rid of this. The last audi had no idea what all the features in the SW did.
Hi there, I cannot be sure what exactly has been done by your Audiologist, but the first thing I’d try is recalculate the feedback, you can also check the feedback control in genie, (MoreSound Optimizer) could you post your audogram as this would be helpful, and last you could try to find the frequency that’s setting this off?
The Reals have a setting in Genie which is in the Automatics Screen for Feedback Management.
The settings are Normal - Low - Off.
The older Feedback Test is also available which runs white noise, and adjusts gains.
It is located below the Fine tuning Screen as Feedback analyzer.
The other option is to unlink the right and left graphs in the Fitting screen, and lower the gains for the offending frequencies for the right HA. To unlink, see the small chain icon on the left above the + - icons using Genie 2 - 25.1
OK, so in your other post about using headphones, you indicated the feedback was corrected by setting by following my advice, but now you say it was the acoustics?
Yeah, big difference in gains betweewn open domes, and molds.
That’s always the 1st thing to change in Genie, when checking feedback.
