Specsavers Advance Elite Bluetooth not connecting to phone or PC

Its a RIC type. Behind the ear …

How does your hearing aid and the charger look like?

The following picture showing the Resound Nexia family RIC & BTE

and this are pictures of the ReSound Nexia Chargers

– Premium Charger <------> standard Desktop Charger

The next picture showing the Signia Pure IX RIC style with charger

That’s 2 different types. RIC has a receiver at the end of a wire that goes in your ear. Behind the ear just has a plastic tube. But for both types, the hearing aid sits behind the ear. Confusing eh? From what I can see, Specsavers sell both types as Advance Elite at the same price. But only their RIC type is fully Android compatible. So if you have a Behind the ear type, maybe swap it for RIC?

A little off track, but a downside of the Specsavers Advance range, the fitting software used to be locked, and probably still is. So not able to self program.

Its a RIC type…Not the plastic tube . Its looks like the resound nexia and charger.

Well if firenzel is right (see above) you have a rebranded Phonak aid which should connect to your phone, pc and iPad. I take it that you have tried pairing by switching the aids off and then on again to get them in pairing mode. Also, note that it’s only one aid that shows up for pairing which is the master aid but both aids then receive audio. For me it’s the right aid. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. Appreciated.

If your hearing aids look like the ReSound Nexia and your charger looks like the ReSound charger , then your Specsaver hearing aids are rebranded ReSounds and connect for streaming only via MFi , ASHA and BT-LE-Audio.
→ NO classic Bluetooth connection for streaming from PC

If you keep the Resound aids then you could get a Bluetooth dongle which support the new BLE-Audio standard, and connect the hearing aids via the dongle to your PC for streaming audio.

For connection to Android phone: Your Android phone need to support ASHA or BLE-Audio.

As you say…They are resound Ha’s. Will take them back however . Thanks for the info. Alan

Here in Australia, my Specsavers HAs are rebranded Signias. My audio confirmed at the last follow-up appointment that these only connect to my phone, to the “Remote” app, with minimal controls. They cannot be paired with my Apple MacBook Air, or anything else. He said that this connectivity “is coming” but no timeline.
Currently, I do not use the HAs for phone calls via the HAs themselves directly, but rather prefer to put the phone on Speaker mode and listen to that via the HAs. Much better voice sound, to me. Listening to a caller’s voice via the HA’s Bluetooth connection to the phone is not a good experience.

Go back and get them to work for their money, all they need are some additional adjustments to get them sounding how you want, Connexx has one of the better available adjustments for bluetooth.

Again get them working for their money! Lazy it’s been available for quite some time now, LE Audio update, but the problem for some is then finding the right phone to work with LEA  just remember this is IX platform, hopefully Specsavers didn’t sell you old platform stock…

The audio said that a firmware update was needed to achieve this connectivity, but that it is not available in Australia yet. I will ask him to adjust the streaming audio; he has had one go at it already.

Yes that’s correct, the firmware update is available in Connexx software and has been for a while now, to get the new firmware Specsavers need to update the software first, it should of already been done.

Ooh. Great post. Mine are def resound nexia. I was quoted £280 by specsavers for a phone clip to link to my laptop. I would welcome any advice on a more cost effective solution
