Signia Pure Charge&Go BCT IX now with Classic Bluetooth - what to buy?

Signia has introduced a new BCT model of the Pure Charge&Go IX:

  • Pure Charge&Go IX – with MFi (Made for iPhone), ASHA, LE Audio, and Auracast
  • Pure Charge&Go BCT IX – with Classic Bluetooth, ideal for connecting to computers, TVs, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

The new BCT model has also an improved battery life of 54 hours

Signia Pure Charge&Go BCT IX - with Bluetooth Classic

I’m unsure which hearing aid to buy and would love some advice.
LE Audio and Auracast seem to be the future, but as of now, iPhone (even with iOS 18.3) doesn’t support these features. Plus, there are currently no public places like airports, train stations, or theaters using Auracast—though that might change in the next five years.

Given the current situation, what would you choose?
A hearing aid with MFi and Auracast, or one with Classic Bluetooth for better compatibility today?

@JohnFeb. Classic bluetooth would be my option, especially with that battery life.

I think you need to answer the question yourself as it depends on your requirements.

If you have an iPhone and do not use a PC, then it’s probably worth going for the version without BCT. This will enable you to get the benefit of Auracast if and when it is rolled out via iOS updates in the future.

If you have Android (except for the latest Samsung S23 onwards) and you use a PC, then it’s probably worth going with the BCT version.

Yeah this is just a teaser, a big launch coming soon for sure, I guess they could’ve gone MFA (Made for all) which included LE Audio.

IX includes Bluetooth LE / LE Audio, ASHA and MFI.
T brings Telecoil.
BCT brings Bluetooth Classic and Telecoil

Yes we’re aware as we discussed, but what I was saying, is a MFA (Made For All) which includes the classic Bluetooth chip, that would make sense.

I believe they added a second module just for BT Classic & Telecoil, like they do with Telecoil. Not a new chip.

If it doesn’t do LE Audio or MFi/ASHA, then something different is going on. I suppose they could have disabled that on the first chip but I’d think that integrating the second chip would be harder than just using a different one. No mention I’ve seen of adding BT Classic to the other features, it seems to me to be instead.
