Hi, I am demoing the Signia Pure Charge and Go 7x, mainly for the Tinnitus Notch Therapy. The audiologist gave me two programs, one with Notch therapy the other without. Both have the tinnitus masking on and I am not able to turn it off through the app but I can turn volume of masking to 0. The problem is with masking volume at 0 I still hear white noise or hissing . I demoed Oticon Opn S1 and they were silent with masking turned off.
Is this normal to hear hissing or white noise with Signia Pure Charge and Go with masking volume 0?
Notch therapy and tinnitus masking are the same thing aren’t they?
If your hearing white noise and hissing and you don’t like/want it, that says the hearing aids are not set up correctly for your type of tinnitus, the setting up of the tinnitus controller is sometimes a time consuming effort.
The actual volume and intensity is set within the software,so even turning the volume to “0” on the app will still have some masking effect coming through, sounds like you’ll need to see your audiologist to tone down notch therapy.
The frequency of your tinnitus is targeted, and amplification of the sound is “turned down” and relegated to background noise, making it easier for your brain to ignore.
And then go on to say
Unlike ocean wave and static noise sound therapies, this method is done inaudibly, so you “might” not even realize that you’re going through tinnitus sound therapy.
So I’m thinking it’s set to high for you, either way you’re going to have to see your audiologist to tone things down by the sounds of it.
But other then this issue, how do you find the Pure NX in general conditions, battery life?
I have had them 24 hours, the hissing needs adjusted out and the app battery page is greyed out and does not show battery info. I will report back in a few days when I have more experience.
That sounds about right, as Signia claims 19 hours including 5 hours of streaming, hopefully they can increase the run time in the future to at least what a zinc air battery can offer.
Went back to audiologist today, the program had tinnitus masking turned up to high, reprogrammed with masking volume lower and another program with notch therapy only. Signia Purcell charge and go are now clear, no white noise. Good hearing aids.
