I’m looking for an in the ear hearing aid for when I’m wearing a mask and glasses an I wondered if anyone here has had any experience with the Signia Active aids?
I’m a heavy bluetooth user, with every day including MS teams calls, streaming audio books from my phone and watch, so this functionality is key. How do you find the Bluetooth connection stability and audio quality?
With the release of the new Active IX / Active Pro IX the original versions can be got (looking around) for a much lower price. How would the performance of the original Active Pro compare to the lower spec newer Active IX (rather than Pro IX)?
Have you tried running in them?
Are the new Phonak Virto Infinio rechargables released yet (I’d only need one)?
Are there any other sensible choices given we cannot buy the Sony OTC aids in the UK.
I like the idea of the Sony ones, it is just being able to access the app in the UK (the app is not available in the UK). My wife’s cousin is occasionally in Connecticut, so he can buy and post the aids if needed.
No problem with the app. It’s unavailable on the app stores but it’s easily found on apk websites and works well. I’m in Australia and haven’t had any issues.
No doubt there will be varying opinions, but I find them extremely comfortable and secure. I have been wearing them 18 hours a day for nearly a year now and hardly notice they are there.
Initially I spent a lot of time playing around with the fine tuning via the app but eventually just went back to the setting auto selected for me after doing the in app hearing test.
I still use the app daily to make basic volume and tone adjustments. For example if I am out walking I will always turn down the volume because of the traffic noise. I also turn down when playing guitar to minimise what I think are noise reduction artefacts. This is the Sony OTC, so it doesn’t have the programming flexibility of the Signia.
