My audiologist was able to program my hearing aid wireless, she put something around my neck with a black box and my hearing aid was able to communicate to her computer. Is this bluetooth or something else? can I do the same? can I get the program online? any help is appreciated.
It was probably the progrmming connection device. Things have changed since then and since you are due for new hearing aids I would wait and get the new device, if you are still interested in programming them at home.
But, I would encourage you to continue learning everything you can about hearing aids, adjustments, features, technology, and accessories.
I do my own programming but rather than a “black box” worn around my neck, I use cables to connect my aids to a HiPro programming device. The reason for this is because I have some older Siemens aids, some Phonak and now some Oticon and each brand has a different “black box” designed for their own. It would be rather expensive to buy them all. With Siemens, I can just plug some CS44 cables to the aids from the HiPro. With Phonak, they use CS44A cables but all this is, is 2 wires are swapped around in the plug so I made my own extensions which swap the wires for me using the CS44 cables.
Each brand of hearing aid uses different software which you would need to seek out and download. They are out there if you look for it, Google is your friend (and the Programming sections of this forum) or you could “ask a friend”
